Embrace the Rage - Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

Hey guys!

For this Social Media post I decided to share a small piece of strategy, which works great in the Silver League, my league, I don’t know how Gold or Diamond players see this, and involves Oshannus and the “What doesn’t kill you” rule, rule that grants the Enrage ability to all Monsters.

Djinn Oshannus..., or whatever you have/want
Now, the idea of this rule is to make yourself untouchable, so not only you need a card that is already quite fast, but also a card that has the Phase ability, which allows you to dodge Magic attacks. That’s why I’m talking about Oshannus. This Monster has five points of Speed and gets Phase at level two. He’s not the only one, of course, with these traits, but as a Reward Monster from the Chaos Edition, he’s quite cheap costing $2.7, unlike the Coeurl Lurker which costs almost $60.

If you can afford the Lurker, who also has Dodge, then amazing… remember though that you need a Summoner which is at least, Rare at level 3, Epic at level 3 or Legendary at level 2, to summon a Legendary at level 2. In my case I use the new Dragon Summoner, the Helios Matriarch, since she gives me an extra point of Speed, ideal for this strategy and because she’s free.

If you have the resources to rent or buy, there are many great Modern Summoners in both the Dragon and the Water Splinter which help with evasion and are even better, like Brighton Bloom.

By the way, the Dragon Summoner Sthispa grants the Phase ability to all of your Monsters, so you can apply this to any Splinter, maybe to a Pelacor or any other fast Monster.

Pumping up Speed

We have the Summoner and we have the tank. Now is time to take Oshannus’s Speed, or the Monster of your choice, even further. In the Silver League we have at least three affordable choices, or I should say one, since two of them are Soulbound Rewards…

  • Number one is the Marksrat, a Martyr that you should place in first position, to make sure he dies and benefits Oshannus, pumping up his stats. If you can combine that with Resurrect, even better. River Hellondale has it at level one.

  • Number two, another Soulbound, Clockwork Aide, which grants you Swiftness. I wouldn’t position him after Oshannus, because he could be a victim of a Magic Blast.

  • Number three is the Supply Runner, a must have card at level five, in my opinion, which also grants you Swiftness and is a Neutral Monster, so you can use it always.

Battles

The great thing about Enrage and this tactic is that you don’t need to waste a spot on a healer, actually I would advice you against it, so you can use that space on an attacker or another stat pumper. It is a bet, of course, but I think is worth it.

Battle 1: Silver League Tournament; I lost here, but to a rival with the same strategy. Difference was he used the Martyr Resurrection tactic, making his tank slightly faster than mine. As you can see, neither of us used a healer.

Battle 2: Another Silver League Tournament. Way more Mana cap and no healer used by neither of us. All Melee Monster had Sneak, so I placed the Void Dragon at last position. Now, my opponent had way more attack power than me, but because of my high evasion, he only took down one Monster. The Void Dragon here is a great example of what you could get if you combine Brighton Bloom with Oshannus.

Mind the rules! There is no point in using this strategy if “Aim True” is in effect, you would be much better off with strong and defensive Monsters.

That’s it for this post, hope you got something useful!
