A Short Ode to: The PelMerc
Ahhhh... the new Reward Cards.... we all knew that some of them had potential but the Pelacor Mercenary, he hasn't seemed to live up to his potential- yet.
He SEEMED like a great card- Flying, Armor and at L6 he gets Heal! One of my Guild-mates (@woook) even paid 500 DEC for them, when they were first released!
and then the fall.....
Well, I managed to pick up a (small) pile of them just after the last EOS- at <10 DEC each so I swept them all up into a L8 PelMerc. He's better than a Nectar Queen by this time- Speed 4, Flying but he has Armor and Healing while she has Retaliate. I've never seen the point of that Ability, on that card- the POINT is- to NOT get hit! so for me the PelMerc is superior- the first time he does get hit- he has armor. The Next imes he gets hit- he has Healing.

TBH- the Swamp Thing and the Vulture won that game but my PelMerc did kill her PelMerc- allowing the Vulture to finish things off.
Those 3 wins also let me finish my Earth Quest- where a pulled a Crystalsmith, a Devil and a couple more Commons- as well as 2 Pots and 45 DEC- not a bad day's work for the Big Guy!

It looks like a REASONABLE card, not great, but OK.
You wouldn't swap him for the Flesh Golem I don't think though, but for the relative price this is a steal!
Definitely not a replacement for the Flesh Golem if you have the $$ to invest in one (those things are crazy expensive for a common), but this will be available in the "modern" format, while the flesh golem will not... and obviously this is a WAY better option for those on a tight budget.
I agree- this will be available in the 'modern' format while The Golem will only be in Wild.
But looking at the stats- which one is better really depends on lvl and conditions. Level 1 and 2? Neither have Healing- so maybe Flying and Armor is better? Levels 3, 4, 5 The Golem is better. Level 6, I'd lean toward the PelMerc....
