Rent!

Rent!

Last week I finally keeled over and did some organization of my Splinterlands card deck. I have delegated some cards to sponsored players and set up an automated rental account, as I explained in the post. Here I explained that I am using a publicly available discord bot called SplinterRents to rent my spare cards. It is still relatively new service, especially for me, but now I have 1 week worth of data to show some results.

Results

So, I have about 7 days worth of data. It covered late season 91 and bit of early season 92. As you can see above, I have about 793K CP worth of cards there. It is 773 cards, and currently at the time of the writing, 110 of them are NOT rented, but in the market. This is early season, so I expect this result of about 85% rented out. End of the season, it was 100%. This is already a lot better than what I was doing manually by myself. I rarely had 85% of my cards rented out, and forget about the market price! I typically always had it much cheaper than the market as I couldn't update the price in a timely manner.

From the screenshot above, it can be seen that it is 35710 DEC rental income and 1782 DEC in fees. At current price of DEC it is about $21.70 and $1.08 respectively. This is for a week. I can not going to calculate APY or anything on this, as that will be useless and card rental income is highly variable. For me, the most important thing is that my spare cards are now getting used and I am getting a small income out of it. Since I am not earning much SPS or DEC from the LP at the moment, this is something that I can use. Believe it or not, I rent cards myself! This will help me with that.

Kudos to SplinterRents for offering this service at a reasonable price!

nice work! I have had great results from the rent golem myself, it is a different service, no clue which is better, but it saves so much time from managing the rentals manually thats for sure!

I was told a long time ago that I should rent out my idle cards and even if I get a penny a day it's still some passive income. So I did that, then I found out the rental market fluctuates so I have to monitor the price, which means I have to actively monitor them every now and then. Sometimes when I remember, I go to unrent them so I can adjust the price, but I think it takes a little while before I can rent them out again, so I forget about it the next day and the cards end up sitting there not doing anything....

Looks like this rental service may solve my problem...

I had no idea that you owned cards!

Now I know!

Most of them are L1 commons, and you won't get much for them. But if you do want to keep them, you can easily rent them using this bot.

These however, should rent better. Especially EOS.

I'm definitely going to look into the bot next week. I'm so hopeless with everything crypto related apart from posting. Last week I was so chuffed with myself because I managed to reset my Ledger as I forgot my password, then I managed to transfer some funds from Bittrex over to it. Felt right proud of myself 😂

Hey mate, i was looking for something like this to kick start Sprinterland journey. "i wonder if this rent process means you can rent your card to other so he can play - Share profit (according to % set by owner) is that what it meant - or Setting rent account in Sprinterland means something else?

Hope you won't mind asking me this - trying to understand and clear my concepts.

Greetings!

No this actually just means passive income from the rent only.

What you are describing is another human play your cards for you and you two share the earnings. Yes, that is possible too. But you have to contact individuals players. Also you need to have a good enough deck

Oh - Gotcha i thoughts it's the same thing

Thank you for clearing my confusion!

Also you need to have a good enough deck

Seems like so much yet to learn.!

It's really awesome seeing the data on these services. Can't help but think that with all the additional cards on rental, it will actually help the game progress by giving players access to more cards.

I know I am renting cards that there's no way I could afford!
