Conclave Arcana Pack Purchases Breakdown
Okay, now that the pre-sale is over, it is time to digest who bought what. Thanks to Vugtis, I have collected this data for the Top 50 pack purchasers. They are listed according to their ranks. The first thing that you notice from this plot that @hanv bought all standard pack, and that distorts the plot! :)
Removing the Hanv effect :)
If you remove hanv from the distribution, the chart visibility improve significantly! We can clearly see that a lot of top purchasers focused on alchemy packs, because of its higher odds of gold foil and black foil cards. Following are the odds of black foil cards, which you can double using the midnight potion.
Standard Packs: 0.025% (1 in 4,000 cards or 1 in 800 packs)
Alchemy Packs: 0.25% (1 in 400 cards or 1 in 80 packs)
Legendary Packs: 0.125% (1 in 800 cards or 1 in 160 packs)
Starter Packs: 0%
Total Point and $USD! :)
Cryptomancer did spent $100K! This plot show points in millions, which is the yardstick for the leaderboard. $1 = 1000 points. I got 37,400,000 points, so I spent $37.4K! These are insane numbers if you think about we are buying JPG or PNG files :) But clearly we believe they are much more than that!

Spending $37.4k on a game is brave of you. If I would have that much money I would probably buy Hive/HBD instead. But then again your Hive stake is already much bigger than mine so maybe buying splinterlands assets makes more sense.
There are braver people than me as you can see from the list.

I wonder how much % is based on disposable income and those that are seeing it as a growth investment. :)
I can tell you personally that my investment is from my entertainment budget and not my investment budget. An ROI from Splinterlands is nice, but I don't take profits, I just reinvest in more cards for my competitive enjoyment.

Thanks for sharing this data. My $5K+ investment was bumped way down the list past position 100. That Mother's Day had me missing my epic title in the waning minutes. But strong sale numbers means we've already turned a profit for the @sps.dao and the regular sale has not even launched yet!

The pre-sale was a success. I can't imagine spending $100k in cards or even $10k. Those are insane numbers indeed, things are looking great for Splinterlands 😀

Definitely looks like Alchemy packs were the big draw. At least from that one chart. There were a couple of outliers, but across the board it is pretty consistent.

I got to assemble the data first. People are still actively opening packs.
Yeah, I want to open more, too, but don't want to pay that much for the potions. Will wait until the price drops again.
