First ever introductory post

Thanks to @lovesniper, @chillwithshanna and the team @ocd for helping me on my blogging journey. I've never had a blog in my life so lets see where this ride takes us.

My beautiful wife introduced me to the Cryptoverse and @Splinterlands around 1-2 years ago. I have slowly been getting my head around this fascinating new world!

My Splinterlands journey started in August 2021, and I have really enjoyed learning more about the game and developing strategies for progression through the leagues. What I really enjoy about the game is the concept is very simple, but the more you get to know your cards and the rule modifications with each game create much more complexity and keeps the game fresh. Late last year I got the opportunity to join a guild, go the Dropbears! Being in a guild has also added a community aspect to the game which is nice. My fellow guildies are also a wealth of knowledge and experience in relation to optimizing ones deck, good investment tips and encouragement to push yourself further in the game. Special thanks to @Bearone for the guild invite. A big thank you to @giotrix for the extra power boost!!!

My intermediate goal is to be competitive in Silver I and get a solid deck in each splinter. I really like death in Chaos Legion, it is so fun to play. Love the Riftwing at level 5. I just wish I bought a Haunted spirit (or 30!) before CL came out! The guild is also preparing for brawling... I literally have no idea what this is/involves but I'm looking forward to seeing what it is!

Outside of Splinterlands, I have many interests! Unfortunately never much time to dedicate to them. I'm a lover of the drums and music, unfortunately not very compatible with young children who need sleep...and then there's your neighbors. I also enjoy woodwork, I've just finished making some garden beds for @Blingit, so we can start growing some of out own vegetables.

I also love history especially the medieval period. I used to be quite involved in re-enactment and historical fencing, but again life got in the way. But as you can see from some of these action shots it was pretty cool. Some of this armour weighs ~55kg and even in the winter Australian sun it still gets pretty hot. The maile shirt worn under the breastplate, I made myself, and took over 300 hours to make, it is the heaviest thing in my kit weighing in at 22kg.

Pole hammer versus Pole axe...I had to explain I wasn't firewood! (I'm on the left)

My other nerdy interest is D&D which I play with some of my friends from work. I might make a post shortly about the making of a gaming box I've been very slowly working on over the last 2 years, for carrying and store all my D&D gear.

Anyway that's about all for now. Thank you for reading my introduction.
