Why I think you should not stake your airdropped SPS

avatar

In my previous blog I explained why I don't stake SPS to get Chaos Legion vouchers in Splinterlands. Now I want to tell you why I don't stake my airdropped SPS at all.

At the moment I have a total of around 25500 airdrop points, mostly from DEC and partly from cards I own. This yields me roughly 3 SPS from the airdrop each day.

I calculated that if I stake those SPS together with the daily interest (APR) I will have earned around 638 dollar at the end of the airdrop period.

But if I continue to swap my daily airdropped SPS for DEC and add them to the DEC amount I have in my Splinterlands account then my total earnings will grow to a whopping 1400 dollar.

Not only will I profit more but I also don't have to worry if the value of the SPS token will drop when large amounts of SPS will be unstaked as soon as the pre-sale period is over.

As I am not a financial expert, tell me if you think there is a better way to invest those airdropped SPS.

Tip: if you plan to follow my route: in BeeSwap you can swap SPS for DEC directly in stead of using Hive-Engine where you have to swap SPS first to Swap.Hive before you can swap to DEC.

You should probably figure in the value of the airdropped vouchers too. Their price has started going down now, but they're still free money if you aren't planning on buying any packs.

But you need to stake a lot of SPS to get any vouchers and they probably lose their value on the market after the pre-sale has ended on November 17th.

Better you have put some calculation for it, how you derieved.
But at the end of airdrop, we have no idea what will price of DEC and SPS.
After airdrop is over SPS is expected to gain much more in value while DEC is expected to lose much of its value.

It's a simple compound interest calculation I did in Excel. Personally I think that the value of DEC represents the true value in the game, so when SPS becomes the main in-game token it's value will drop I think

Interesting, that could be one way to earn more profit too.

But I am planning to keep my SPS as much possible since SPS may grow much more in the future.

Plus, vouchers was mentioned will be used in the future too.

Good luck to you!

Thanks. You could be right, because from what I read the Splinterlands team is planning to push SPS forward as the main token in the game. Personally I think that SPS will drop in value as soon as the pre-sale period is over.

Yes, people will probably start selling SPS which probably drive down the price after the pre-sale. But, again I am all in for the long term.
