Greetings!

Today I'm going to share about my favorite Splinter, and more specifically my favorite Dragon Summoner!

First, Let's go over what the Dragon Splinter actually is.

The Dragon Splinter is recognized by the Yellow/Orange icon with a circle and an eye in the center.
Dragon and Neutral are (what I like to call) 2 "unique" Splinters, while Fire, Water, Earth, Life and Death are all basic.

A friend to all who love Versatility!

I will now explain the secret sauce of the Dragon Splinter, and why it's so good.

I'm sure many of us who play Splinterlands use the Neutral splinter on a daily basis. I mean, they're some of the most useful cards! Aside from the 1-off no neutral ruleset battles; you can use these cards alongside any other splinter. Reliable, Versatile, Powerful.

Now get ready...

The Dragon Splinter essentially allows you to have a second Neutral Splinter!

That's right! When you select a Dragon summoner, you will be greeted with the box show below.

For example: I want to get +1 Magic on Fire Splinter so I choose Delwyn Dragonscale.
I now have access to 3 different Splinter decks.

  • Fire (or any of the 5 basic Splinters, assuming they are available.)
  • Neutral (Assuming no ruleset is prohibiting it, of course.)
  • Dragon (The 3rd Splinter, allowing for even more devastating combos!)

A wide selection of Powerful Summoners...

Aside from the one I'll be talking about today, there's some amazing Dragon Summoners out there.
I think that all of them are worth taking a look at.
Before I get to my favorite and the Battle recap, I wanted to go over a few notable summoners:

  • Brighton Bloom - 4 Mana - Flight to team
  • Delwyn Dragonscale - 5 Mana - +1 Magic to team
  • Daria Dragonscale - 4 Mana - +1 Melee to team
  • Selenia Sky - 3 Mana - +1 Range to team
  • Byzantine Kitty - 7 Mana - +2 Speed and True Strike to team + Heals tank every turn

By far my favorite combo is Dragon + Death.

Though I've found good fun and success with Daria Dragonscale and Water/Light as well.
For Delwyn, Death really shines with it's low-mana magic options.

Battle: The Ha'on Tank with Magic Backline

This is my one of my favorite ways to play Delwyn, using Ha'on as tank and then Magic power in the back. Depending on the Mana cap, you can have quite a formidable group behind your taunt card.

image.png

My Card Choices front to back:

  • Dark Ha'on to take most of the damage.
  • Venari Bonesmith to act as a second tank when Ha'on dies. (Or to take blast damage)
  • Fallen Spectre for additional Magic. I usually put him in the back and forgot this round, as it can more often than not avoid attacks from Stealth cards. One of the amazing 2-mana Magic options.
  • Darkest Mage for another Magic attacker, and again this is only a 2-mana card.
  • Lastly Theorosa Nightshade for another Magic attacker, this is a 1-mana card!

Victory!
The Ha'on method seems to be the best and most consistent strategy.
I really like to use Delwyn on low mana fights. For 10 Mana, you can get Delwyn, Spectre, Darkest Mage and Theorosa on your team, so 6 Magic damage on the team. Pretty good, and I would say it works amazingly for the most part.

The issue in low mana fights, is that one Magic resistant unit like Unicorn Mustang can shut down your team. More often than not, you will encounter situations where you can't dish enough damage if they see it coming, and then your frontline will die.
Although, in this battle despite the fact I should have lost, luck truly prevailed. This is a good example of how you can lose using Delwyn though, even though I miraculously won.
