Top 5 card rentals for under 1 DEC/day
Renting in Bronze and Silver...
![]()

It can be tough building a powerful deck when renting in bronze or silver.
Especially now at the time of writing, when DEC rewards are lower than previous weeks. Getting a good price for Collection Power is already hard enough. After that's said and done, there's only so much room in the "budget" for renting cards that you plan on using regularly in a fight.
On a second account I have, I'll rent 10-15 utility cards every day that are 2 DEC/day or less. Then rent 1 or 2 cards to get to Bronze 1 or Silver 3. I do the same on my main account, but to a larger scale as I'm in Gold 3.
In my opinion, it can be really useful to have a handful of utility cards. Down the road, you can always start buying and holding these cards instead of renting.
Collection power isn't everything

Here's 5 of my favorite cards that I would recommend always having available for use. All are typically easy to find under 1 DEC/day:
- #1 Owster Rotwell

A great anti-magic death summoner.
Before Chaos Legion, this card was useful due to the Alric meta. Alric is still seen occasionally in Bronze/Silver, and with Obsidian providing +1 Magic to earth now too; this card has more frequent uses. It's also only a 3-mana card!

- #2 Delwyn Dragonscale

My favorite summoner, and a very versatile +1 Magic summoner.
Opposite of Rotwell, we have Delwyn here providing +1 Magic. There are often situations where there is a better choice for a magic build, but this gives you access to all the Dragon cards, and additionally lets you put +1 magic on every other Splinter. Being such a cheap card, it fills a lot of gaps that otherwise could be pretty expensive to fill. Plus, in medium to high mana battles, the 5-mana cost isn't so bad.

- #3 Sand Worm

The heavy hitting Sneak monster.
Not only does this thing have a whopping 5 Melee attack and a modest 5HP, but it's also a Neutral monster. Meaning you can use it in most battles. The 1 speed is not much of an issue if you have a tank or other damage sources, and can be really nice to have on reverse speed matches. One big downside is the 9-mana cost, however with a strategic high mana setup or in 99-mana battles this isn't an issue. Not to mention, the rental rates for this are usually extremely cheap. 0.1DEC/day at this time.

- #4 Venari Wavesmith

The versatile Mage.
Before Chaos Legion, this was pretty much a must have for any player. With the current playstyle and meta, you can get by without this card, but it's still very useful. If you can afford renting an Alric, this works excellently with that summoner, otherwise you can use Delwyn Dragonscale. Even without a +1 Magic summoner, the +1 armor to the team is very useful, and Magic damage is always nice to have.

- #5 Wave Brood

The new Water Taunt.
At the time of writing, you can find many offers for this at under 1 DEC/day. Being end of season, I think that's a good sign it'll stay like that for a little while, but it could go a little above later on if it sees more use. I feel like this card is underrated right now. The same 8-mana cost as Shieldbearer, with an added bonus of ranged attack and the Close Range ability. The damage isn't so high, but with the additional healing available in Water now, and a whopping 12HP, it's a great card to have.

Final Thoughts:
Not even half way through this post, I realized 5 cards isn't that many. There's so many great cards for under 1 DEC/day. Honestly, I don't think it's even a bad idea to go on peakmonsters, filter by gold cards, sort by price, and rent out the 5 or 10 cheapest gold cards on the market as well. Same goes for the Epic or Rare cards. Most of them will provide you some use as well as be a decent deal for collection power.
The new 1-mana cards are all very good and cheap to rent. If you have a levelled up or gold summoner, then I highly recommend the level 3 Scrapper and Scorcher as well. With Void and Shatter respectively they are great choices for low mana cards.
As always, this won't be my last guide and it isn't extensive. Go read other guides out there, and join the official Discord as well if possible. There are heaps of information out there
