Since I am an avid mushroom picker I can say that I have walked through the forests for hundreds of kilometers and it would seem I could see and carefully examine all the animals that live in our forests but this is not so.
I think that one hand can fit fingers bending which I can say how many times I have seen a Sika deer in the forest.
As a rule I did not set myself the goal of seeing them since I was busy picking mushrooms and therefore the deer ran away from me before I could examine them carefully especially since I could not photograph them in the wild.
Probably for this you need to use photo traps which unfortunately I do not have yet.
The vast forests of Ukraine have a beneficial effect on the growth of the population of these deer but I probably need to move through the forest more quietly.
But thanks to the fact that these deer are present in zoos I had the opportunity to take several photos of these graceful creatures and you will see the photos below.
The animal is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
I agree in the zoo on a hot day, the spotted deer did not look very graceful they were more like lazy large hamsters who had eaten their fill and were sleeping after the meal.
The heat did not spare anyone and the lazy ones hid in the shade so as not to waste their energy on thermoregulation but it looked cute especially the deer families where you could see deer of different ages.
From year to year there is a ban on shooting these deer for hunters but as they say, there is a black sheep in any herd and there are poachers who dream of enjoying venison.
Perhaps they are looking for adrenaline and not free deer meat although given the cost of ammunition and the chances of success in such a hunt it is difficult to call it something free and in search of adrenaline they are better off going with a knife in their hands to hunt a boar there will definitely be enough adrenaline it will go off the scale even at the moment of running after a boar lol.
Personally, I prefer a live lamb weighing forty kilograms which cannot compete with a hundred and forty kilogram deer yes it may be like that but lamb on the table does not leave behind the feeling that I did something wrong.
