This morning I had the terrible impulse to try and look at my Go Pro Max 360 footage again.

There is only one solution:

Basically I bought this thing in a moment of outrageous 'black friday' spontaneity thinking ..... 'woo-haa! maybe I can make some cool things to upload to #dlux and then everyone will think Im cool'

Tech is the Worst

go pro max seems like a decent enough camera, but so far I havnt had any joy out of their software.

• Go Pro Quik is supposed to allow me to edit the footage but it comes up with some weird error about music every time I try to play the timeline.
• Go Pro Player is supposed to be the one you want but the official site just gives you a picture of some sharks and says 'Lost at Sea'.... great. Microsoft store has a button that says 'get' but no matter how many times I click it I 'get' jack shit. The official forums have a bunch of people saying similar things and venting frustration that there isnt an .exe file available.
• the actual frickin' .360 files are apparently some awkward file format that gopro are/were trying to push that apparently wont work with hitfilm pro (which is my editor of choice.... I cant afford to shell out a subscription for premiere pro just to muck about with some hobby video)

That Almost helped....

It certainly distracted me for a while. But the pain is real. I dont want to have to sell the camera but I think if it doesnt become a bit more accessible soon I'll probably have to. Word on the street is the gopro max 2 is coming out, so I really doubt they give a damn about anyone struggling in the wake of their inefficiencies. As long as the money keeps rolling in...

Ive left an inquiry on the hitfilm forums just to give myself a faint glimmer of hope.
