Ability strategy analysis: Fury

Ability strategy twitter.png

Introduction

This we have a look at Fury. An ability i do not use often. It always a gamble it your opponent uses any taunt units.

Ability

Units with fury do double damage to targets with the Taunt ability.

Official ability information from splinterlands: List abilities

Synergies / strategy

Abilities benefits

Inspire - everything that boosts the attacker even more..
Swiftness/Slow - everything to make sure you may strike first before you fury unit is killed is somewhat a general rule.

Ruleset benefits
IMO there are no specific rule sets where fury benefits from.

Abilities to be aware of

Taunt - if you expect fury units in your opponents team, do not select taunt units

Select / favorite

Mine Fury Units and stats:

Never used so no stats.

This week i choose Riverboat captain as the number 1 card. Especially for the extra abilities and i use this one more than other fury units and still a 50% win rate is decent.
Runner up would have been Firecaller because of the martyr. Only it has to low health to use the fury ability.

Strategy

High mana battle where only magic might be used and the summoners not give any buffs/debuffs or grant/use abilities.

Rulesets

Wands Out:
Only magic units may be used.

Target Practice:
All ranged and magic units gain the snipe ability. this is important to know when only magic units may be selected this enlarge the possibitly that my opponent will use an taunt to protect weaker units.

Silenced Summoners:
Summoners not give any buffs/debuffs or grant/use abilities.

The Lineup

Summoner

CardReason
i want to pay dragon to have more choice in units therefor this dragon summoner.

Monsters Lineup

#1#2#3#4#5#6

Thanalorian Scion (lvl 3)
Very low health but with the void armor and only magic this is a 11 health unit for only 5 mana.
There is "as far as i know" no magic unit that has shatter ability.

Void Dragon (lvl 3)
This will be the targeted unit. Hope that the phase will lead to many misses.

Djinn Oshannus (lvl 4)
Reward card of the past the is still very useful. the phase and void are needed in an magic only match

Chaos Dragon (lvl 3)
Random attacker that will do extra damage with the blast.

Nerissa Tridawn (lvl 5)
Overall a steady high magic damager dealer with 11 health.

Riverboat Captain (lvl 8)
There it is the fury unit with blast damage this match has a higher chance for taunt units therefor this unit made the team.

Rounds

Start :

Lets analyze the line up.
There is one taunt unit so my fury unit will do its trick. Note the combination of two resurrect units with doctor blight is an powerful combination. overall i do a bit more damage so i think this battle i mine.

Round 1:

image.png
6 damage done by Riverboat Captain and some misses on my void dragon is great. Still my opponents Agor Longtail is healed that is not so nice.

Round 2:

image.png
Both resurrect are used in this round. One waisted on River Hellondale and the other on Agor Longtail that gained again 6 armor.
Also in this round some more misses so far the strategy is working.

Round 3:

image.png
This is the round i will take over. without the 6 damage of Riverboat Captain it would have been a tough match.

Round 4:

image.png
Its over just to more units left and my damage is way more. Now the fury is not working anymore still the blast damage is some extra additional damage.

Round 5:

Victory. Must say every victory against doctor blight is nice this my nemesis unit by far:

Conclusion

This battle demonstrate when you expect or have a higher chance on taunt unit it might be useful to take along at least one fury unit.
