Battle Challenge dragon theme: Quix The Devious

Intro

Most players are fan of the dragon teams. I'm not a big fan of the dragon teams i got a quix and occasionally use it. The benefits are of course you can choose any other monster of any splinters which makes it highly adaptable to battles. Maybe it is because the i not able to play it right at the gold level. Which is hard at the moment just getting a few chest a day.

For quix i like the -1 speed a lot. the -1 range is nice but remains a gamble if my opponent choose to play ranged monsters.

Stats

Mine is at level 2 which makes it max out on silver and low gold level. I see to often a quix level 3 against me.

Some strategies i like to apply is go for speed so slow opponent and add swiftness, so there might be a lot of misses. I think speed is still the most overlooked strategy.

Other strategy is of course when you are expecting a ranged attack by you opponent. Als take into account to play magic monster for yourself. Depending of other splinters and rulesets.

Strategy

image.png

What can we expect. High armor monsters and less change on magic monster. Because of the 99 assume all high/strong mana monsters.

I assume some ranged play because I often use life against death myself. i will go for the Quix here.

Rulesets

Weak magic
Also magic will first have to break down the armor shields.
This often will showcase some high shield monsters.

Holy protection
Divine shield first attack is absorbed. I like to bring in a blast monster so in the first round it minimal takes down 2 shields.
Also a resurrect monster is useful here because when a resurrect is performed it will hare divine shield again .

The Lineup

Summoner

CardReason
Just in the last season bought it and this season i upgraded/bought some dragon monster. So i'm still learning how to use the dragon splinter. In gold i notice i often overpowered by a level 3 quix.

Monsters Lineup

1st2nd3rd4th5th6th

Djinn Chwala (lvl 3):
Nice high health and armor monster with the thorns it will do minimal 5 damage in one round. when multiple melee monsters it might even more.

Uriel the Purifier (lvl 2):
At the second place a bit of but i expect that the Djinn Chwala will be dead quicly if there is a focus fire or a lot of magic in the battle.

Carnage Titan (lvl 2):
Because of the double strike it will do damage the first round, if it does not miss. nice damage with 3 and also the 7 extra armor that needs to be taken down before my opponent can do some damage. I just bought this monster this season getting use it ability. At this point of writing this post i just notice it is not sneak but reach so two monsters on the battle field that will not hit in the first round 😱.

Adelade Brightwing (lvl 2):
This on the battlefield for the resurrect and repair extra shield are always useful in the weak magic rule set.

Prismologist (lvl 1):
Mainly for the blast so it can take down some extra divine shield.

Chaos Dragon (lvl 2):
Just bought this mosnter and love the abilities. the scattershot in combination with the blast is useful imo when there is a holy protection ruleset. Because of the weak magic rule set its magic damage unfortunately will not help that much else it would have done directly diminish some healt of my opponents monsters.

Rounds

Start :

image.png
My opponent has chosen a similar setup. Did not expect that lol. I have some benefits because of the higher level legendary monsters. Here you probably will see that not only strategy will help but also higher level monster is just important factor.

Round 1:

image.png

A lot happend the first round already. My chaos dragon with its blast has taken down 3 divine shield which is nice. There Carnage Titan hit my Djinn Chwala twice which cause him to lose the divine shield and -1 shield i wish i had a amplify monster on the battle field.

Round 2:

image.png
That hurt a lot there Uriel the Purifier hit when the all shields where down which killed my Djinn Chwala. Also directly resurrected now with a new divine shield which is very important because Adelade Brightwing fires her magic attack and normally it would have taken my Djinn Chwala. Now with the divine shield and weak magic rule set is back alive with full shield another 7 health they need to take down first.😁

Round 3:

image.png
Now my Djinn Chwala is killed. I have taken down Uriel the Purifier and its also resurrected with full shield 😌. at this point not looking very well i need to kill some monster. Still have faith because of my Uriel the Purifier has heal.

Round 4:

image.png
This is looking better. Evening the the play field each 5 monsters left. When there Carnage Titan is dead first it is over.

Round 5:

image.png
Nice round. My Chaos Dragon hits Supply Runner causing damage on each side and killing the Supply Runner. There Carnage Titan is dead now it is over.

Round 6:

image.png
One more down. no buff for my opponent next round it is finish time

Round 7:

image.png
One miss of my Carnage Titan, but second and final blow finish the match.

Conclusion

High mana monster nice the see the buffs and heals doing there thing. I'm looking forward to the Riftwatchers battle in the future with higher mana caps.
I need more practice with Quix The Devious i see his potential.
More often I like summoners that buff my own monsters instead of the de-buff. e.g. -1 ranged you only benefit from it when your opponent choses range. this is a gamble. For speed i think it is always a nice de-buff because speed is so important for almost every battle.

That's all for this week hope you enjoyed reading this battle report. See you all on the battle field
