Introduction

This week battle mage secret: explosive weaponry love this rule set, where every monster gets blast. Most of the time that is equals to have funny battles.

Ruleset

Does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target monster.
Additional damage is equivalent to main damage divided by 2, rounded up.

Official ruleset information from splinterlands: List-of-In-Game-Rulesets

Abilities Synergies / Strategies

Reflection shield - With the explosive weaponry rules reflection shield is almost a must have. This absorbs the blast damage.
True Strike - Make sure your monster hits so it triggers blast, no attack is wasted!
Scattershot - this is so much fun when explosive weaponry is in the mix. becuase you cannot predict the target it is often not the first position so big chance it hitting in the middle doing 2 monster extra blast damage.
Scavenger - Allow your scavenger to increase their health stat while both your and your opponent's monsters fall to blast!
/ Snipe / Opportunity - Focus your attack on monsters not in the first position to maximize damage to adjacent monsters.
Martyr - when places well the blast damage can take it down early to trigger martyr and boost 2 adjacent monsters.
Recharge - One of the few time recharge is a bonus because the 3x times damage also help do extra damage with blast. Example when a monster does 3 damage and has recharge it does 6 damage every other round which make blast do 2 damage iso of 1 damage.

Rulesset befenits
Holy Protection - Use blast to disable your opponent's divine shield.
Target practice - for maximum impact, monsters should snipe monsters located closer to the center of your opponent's back line. That way, you have 3 monsters taking damage instead of 2. Magic monsters may be nested closer to the center of your opponent's back line. When this ruleset is also in play really use some monster with reflection shield

Avoid

Beware of abilities
/ Magic Reflect / Return Fire - Your blasting monster will take magic reflect or return fire damage from all monsters impacted by your own blast monster!
Enrage - Blast can enrage your opponent's monsters - adding +1 to speed and melee attack be careful to use this ability.

beware of rulesets
/ Counterspell / Fire and regret - Your blasting monster will take magic reflect /return fire damage from all monsters impacted by blast!
Spreading Fury - Blast can enrage your opponent's monsters -- adding +1 to speed and melee attack.

Example battle

Strategy

99 mana is basically bring out the big shots. Directly thinking of Fury in this case, and with the explosive weaponry i should also bring some reflection shield.

Rulesets

Close Range:
All range unit can now also fire from the first position.

Explosive Weaponry:
Rule set of this week. All units will gain the blast ability especially when you use scattershot this can be very funny. So bring along some reflection shield or other reduce damage abilities.

Weak Magic:
All unit will have void armor. Als magic attack will hit the armor first.

The Lineup

Summoner

CardReason
First I thoughed i wanted to bring some gladius unit and my opponent was not playing often ranged. Then i forget to bring an gladius unit so i could have brought also Quix. I want to play dragon because there are some strong dragon as you will see.

Monsters Lineup

#1#2#3#4#5#6

Uriel the Purifier (lvl 3)
Very strong tank that will heal its self pretty good. High health high damage and in this case also the magic attacked need to get trough the 6 armor first.

Corsair Bosun (lvl 6)
Important unit with the reflection shield. 5 damage with reach makes it possible to attack from the second position.

Chaos Dragon (lvl 3)
There is one of my favorite dragon units. The scattershot will be nice to strike in the backline and the blast doing damage to adjacent units. This unit already got blast on its own do no extra benefit from the explosive weaponry but still a very nice unit overall

Dumacke Exile (lvl 6)
I brought this unit specially for the Fury ability and attack in the back so i spread the attack of the fury units. At "this moment" of writing this post i know i made a crucial mistake thinking of Giant killer but selecting Fury 🤣🤣

Runic Skyclaw (lvl 6)
Another reflection shield protecting the back for blast damage.

Rune Crafter (lvl 6)
Selected for the fury as mention earlier that was a mistake.... Still hope my opponent will bring a taunt unit lol.

Rounds

Start :

Something to analyze i know i made some mistakes, summoner and fury unit. No taunt so that hurt but also no ranged as i expected.
I love the Jacek with this rule set unfortunately mine is only level 2. So that is randomly still the reflection shield will be beneficial only not when it strike that unit. At least all of his magic units needs to get trough my shields first.

Round 1:

Many misses om my Uriel the Purifier, so a but lucky there. placed my shots pretty in the middle and also the reflection shield has saved at least 3 damage.

Round 2:

That went unexpectedly quick. Hitting with 12 damage Grum Flameblade killing it and doing 6 blast damage.

Round 3:

Much quicker match then expect but it an victory.

Conclusion

Even with some wrong/bad decisions still an victory. This match demonstrates the power of blast and also the fun with scattershot of my opponent. Really unpredictable but high fun factor.
