Experimental Land Manager Arrives on splinter-lands site

Welcome back splinterfam,
The last few weeks I have been busy building one of the biggest experimental features I ever added to the site... the Land Manager.
If you are active on land you probably know the feeling. Harvesting multiple regions, making plots harvestable again, moving resources around, renting workers, checking balances... it quickly becomes a repetitive process.
That is exactly what I wanted to improve.
The goal of this feature is simple. Reduce the annoying manual land management tasks while still keeping the player in control.
And honestly... this became much bigger than I originally planned 😅
This is still an experimental feature so expect rough edges here and there. I fully expect there will be situations I did not think about yet especially with very small transfers, liquidity additions, resource swaps or edge cases around certain land setups.
So if you use it please give feedback. That feedback is extremely important to improve this over time.
Security First
One thing I want to make very clear immediately.
All actions are executed using your own Splinterlands JWT session that is created through Hive Keychain authentication.
I do not store your JWT token in a database.
Everything happens server side through secure HTTP only cookies and actions requiring an Active Key will still require confirmation through Hive Keychain.
So currently it is more like semi automation instead of fully automated background processing.
Posting key operations are handled automatically where possible.
Active key actions will always ask you for confirmation.
That was a very important design choice for me.

💬 Ideas and feature requests are always welcome. No promises but I will take a look and try my best.
Before you start
First head over to and log in:
https://land.spl-stats.com/land-manager

Edit you config which region you want to use:
My advice is to start with one or two

Setup which strategy to use to make your region havestable:

Decide on what you want todo with you resource after harvest:

Setup your settings for renting if you are going to use that functionality:

Dry Run Mode
One of the features I personally love most is the Dry Run system.
Before broadcasting certain operations the Land Manager can show exactly what it plans to do.
That means you can preview:
- Which plots will be harvested
- Which resources will be transferred
- Which swaps may happen
- Which workers may be rented
- Estimated DEC usage
- Liquidity actions
Basically you get a chance to verify the planned actions before committing them.
With something as resource heavy as land I really did not want a blind automation button 😄
What Can The Land Manager Do?
Currently the system already supports quite a lot of automation features.
Harvest All Regions
The manager can scan all configured regions and harvest the plots that are ready.

Dry run:

When done the result is view in the today window:

Make Regions Harvestable Again
This one became one of the more interesting parts.
If a region is not harvestable anymore the manager can try to recover it automatically using strategies you configure yourself.
Strategies currently include:
- Transfer resources from another owned region
- Trade one resource for another
- Buy missing resources using DEC
The order of these strategies is configurable.
Dry run:

Actual results are shown in today panel:

Harvest Castles & Keeps
The system also supports harvesting castles and keeps automatically.
Dru Run:

Actual results presented in today section:

Resource Processing
After harvesting you can decide what should happen with the resources.
For example:
| Strategy | Description |
|---|---|
| nothing | Keep the resources |
| trade_hub | Sell 50% and add everything to liquidity pools |
| sell_dec | Sell directly for DEC |
This makes it possible to create different land management styles depending on your goals.
Dry run:

Actual result again show in today section:

Worker Renting
This feature is probably the most experimental one at the moment.
The Land Manager can:
- Detect empty worker slots
- Look for rentable workers
- Compare prices
- Respect budget limits
- Stake the rented workers automatically after confirmation
Especially for larger land setups this can save quite a lot of manual clicking.
Alert panel that show when you have plot with empty workers

Still Experimental
I really want to stress again that this is still an experimental system.
Land itself is already one of the most complicated parts of Splinterlands and automating actions on top of that adds even more complexity.
Some things that may still fail or behave unexpectedly:
- Very tiny transfers
- Resource pool additions
- Edge case swaps
- Rate limiting (my server hitting rate-limits on spl API calls)
- Certain market situations
- Weird plot setups
So please keep an eye on what happens while using it.
Service Fee
This is actually the first feature on my site that includes a service fee.
Currently a 2% fee of harvested resources processed through the site is collected.
I will honestly evaluate over time if this is sustainable, how much server load it creates and how heavily the feature is being used.
There are also exemption systems implemented for specific situations and regions.
Some benefits when you are in my region 65 tract 3 you will not being charged to harvest that region.
Why I Built This
The main reason is honestly simple...
Land management can become extremely repetitive.
And with larger setups it becomes harder and harder to keep everything optimized manually every single day.
This feature is my attempt to make land management more manageable while still keeping the player fully in control of what happens.
And yes... this is also laying groundwork for future automation systems once Splinterlands eventually supports more delegation possibilities.
Feedback Wanted
This is one of those features where real usage matters far more than internal testing.
So if you try it:
- Tell me what works well
- Tell me what feels confusing
- Tell me what is missing
- Tell me what breaks 😄
Because I fully expect this system to evolve a over time.
That is all for today.

Man, there's a lot here; gonna take my time and get my head around it. Thanks for all you do for the community, Beaker. Wouldn't be the same without you.
Hey @mattclarke, great to see you here checking out the new stuff 😄
Just wondering, how are you all doing? I’ve been missing the Splinterlands 101 shows.
Any chance they’ll be making a comeback sometime soon, or only an occasional irregular episode?
Would definitely be nice to see them return 😄
I'm doing really well, thanks mate. I should probably get glasses; 50 being closer than its ever been, but I'm doing the man thing and just ignoring it as long as I can.
Bob's gone really quiet since he went exploring in South America, and he was always the driving force behind shooting, editing and posting the show. I appreciate that can be difficult in less than first world circumstances. I still hope to bring it back and really appreciate your ongoing support :)
Amazing work, Beaker! Love the features and appreciate the time you spent to look into all of these!
I really like the auto rental, what to do with harvest, how to keep other plots producing when they don't have enough resources, etc. Such amazing work! Agree that Dry Run is the game changer. It reminds me of having to verify sql queries prior to running them so you don't actually remove all records. lol
Some feedback just from reading through, not yet on actual testing so might loop back on that afterwards.
Again, really amazing work! Will loop back if I find anything more! Thanks!
Hi, thanks for checking out the feature and for the feedback! Some of your suggestions were already on my todo list, and a few are actually live already as we speak now 😄
Great feedback — directly implemented 👍
It already showed when you didn’t have enough staked DEC, but now you can also directly stake DEC from the site itself.
Agree, that’s a really nice improvement. I’ve already added it to the site.
The layout may still change a bit, but the information is there now.
It will also the rental cost if you rented yourself, not via this site.
I’ve just implemented a minimum foil option 👍
Currently, only max-level cards are rented. I will consider adding level-based renting as well, although that’s a bit more complicated. I’m also not sure yet how many people would actually use it — for example, what exactly “Level 4” means depends on the rarity. But I definitely understand your point, and I’ll think a bit longer about how I could implement this in a clean and user-friendly way.
And thanks again for leaving feedback — this really helps improve the site 🙌
appreciate you looking into it, Beaker! I think the minimum foil option should be good enough for now as I think most would probably look at max level cards and maybe some gf base level ones so like level 2 for lgf, for example so that should be enough for now and less complicated as you have already added that in. thanks again!
