Grow Your Splinterlands and Hive Journey — The Blogging Way

Hey Splinterlands family,
It's been awesome seeing the steady rise of new players in the game lately. Whether you're here to climb the leaderboard, collect those sweet cards, or just have some fun, welcome aboard! I hope you're all enjoying the game and earning a little something along the way.
As many of us know, once you create a Splinterlands account, you’ve also unknowingly stepped into the world of Hive. Yep — that magical little blockchain behind the scenes! 🧙♂️ And today I want to show you a way to not only grow your Splinterlands account but also your presence on Hive.
Blogging on Hive? Yep, That’s a Thing (and It Pays Too)
If you enjoy creating content — about Splinterlands, your hobbies, your life, your pet hamster, anything really — Hive is the place to be.
My go-to site for blogging is PeakD.com, but there are others like Hive Blog, Ecency, and more. The cool part is: once you post something on one platform, it shows up on all of them. So if you post via PeakD, someone on Hive Blog can still see, read, and upvote it.
First Steps: Join the Community
There are tons of communities on Hive, but since you're a Splinterlands player, your first move should be joining the Splinterlands Community. You’ll find all sorts of content there — battle reports, strategy guides, fan art, land farming ideas, you name it.
Find your community
https://peakd.com/communities

Once you're in, a great first post is an Introduce Yourself post. Just share who you are, why you're on Hive, what you love, etc. Be sure to use the #introduceyourself tag so the wider Hive community can find you.

How You Can Earn
Here’s where things get exciting 👀
Every post you make can earn upvotes — and those upvotes are worth real value. Hive rewards work like this:
- After 7 days, your post pays out.
- 50% of the reward goes to you, and 50% goes to the curators (voters).
- Your 50% is split into Hive Power (HP) and HBD (Hive-Backed Dollars).
Hive Power gives your own votes more value — so it’s a good idea to keep powering up over time.
So yes, you earn by posting, and you earn by voting too once you've got HP!
Personally, I’ve been posting since November 2021, and just by writing about Splinterlands (a game I already love to play!), I’ve earned 10,587 HP, which is roughly $2,900 in value (current hive pice). 🎉

Weekly Contests You Can Join
Splinterlands runs 3 awesome contests every week, and you can enter two of them:
- 🎨 Splinterlands Art Contest
- 📝 Splinterlands Social Media Challenge
- 💬 Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge
You can find them here on PeakD. Read the rules, follow the theme, create something valuable and fun, and share it. These contests are a great way to get noticed and possibly earn some juicy upvotes.
Don’t Be an Extractor
Let’s talk ethics for a sec. Hive is a community, not just a cash-out machine.
Some people have "abused" the system by only entering contests, collecting rewards, and cashing out — without contributing or engaging with others. That’s frowned upon and hurts the ecosystem. Curator of contest post will look into these behaviors.
Instead, keep your Hive Power (HP) growing. Use it to support others. Engage with content. Drop comments. Build connections. You’ll find Hive is a much more rewarding experience that way — not just financially but socially too.
Rule of thumb keep your post on the default 50%/50% post payout and only spend the HBD you receive:

Your HBD can be found here https://peakd.com/@beaker007/wallet:

And again you can see that for every account, you just got to love that you cannot hide 🤣🤣
On how to get that sweet HBD into the game again we can make a separate post. if you would like to see that leave a comment.
Final Thoughts
This blogging method has seriously helped me grow my Splinterlands account, but more importantly, it's helped me connect with other awesome people on Hive. Whether you're into gaming, art, music, writing, or something totally different — there’s a place for you here.
And Hive isn’t just for blogging. There’s so much more:
But those are stories for another day...
Hope this post was helpful! Drop a comment if you have any questions, and if you found this useful, an upvote is always appreciated. 😊

@steevc & Co.,
Do the right thing. We are only sharing the truth—please review what we present before dismissing it or calling us liars. Whether you like it or not, you are involved, and YOU CAN HELP US. You know what needs to be done, and don’t you dare tell us to go elsewhere. Why don’t you take action?

WHEN THEY STOP, WE STOP SHARING THE TRUTH.
SPEAK UP. MAKE NOISE. TAKE A STAND.
Key Issues That Demand Immediate Attention:
The problems are glaring, undeniable, and corrosive to the Hive ecosystem. They must be addressed without delay:
These practices do not just harm individual users—they undermine the very foundation of Hive, eroding trust and poisoning the community. Such actions are not only unethical but outright destructive.

The blockchain data tells the story plainly and clearly. We are not fabricating these claims; we are merely presenting what is already visible for all to see. As we’ve repeatedly urged @themarkymark & Co—the solution is simple: STOP.
SO PLEASE STOP. It’s time to do what’s right for Hive and its community. Why cling to practices that harm others? Power down, step away, and let Hive thrive as it was meant to. You bring nothing positive to this ecosystem.
THOSE WHO ARE WATCHING—THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU.
PLEASE STOP.
I think it's important to guide new players joining Splinterlands so they have a smooth landing into the Hive ecosystem.
It also reminds me of the saying you used: “Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
yes, I remember. I use that quote often.
I have taken that role myself many times.
I also remind myself and anyone who fight abuse of any kind:
“Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.”
We have examples of many individuals here who indeed have gazed way to long into the abyss! I have tried, but there is no turning back for them.
Great write-up, Beaker! Will be sharing this as soon as I submit this comment :)
Thanks, @bjangles! Spread the word—let’s help not only Splinterlands grow, but Hive as well. They thrive best together. 🚀
Onward & upward, hombre!
Great blog!
I also came to Hive via Splinterlands and have been blogging here for about 3 years now. Sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on my mood and time. Most of the time I blog about Splinterlands, but nowadays I also write about other topics from time to time. As far as my rewards are concerned, I only use my HBD to use them in Splinterlands assets.
Hey @flummi97, thanks!
I keep catching myself spending almost all my free time in the Splinterverse—whether it’s blogging, programming, reading, or commenting… probably 90% of it is Splinterlands! 😄
I do want to dive into other communities too when I can.
Just followed you—looking forward to seeing your blog posts pop up in my feed! 😊
Thank you very much, I appreciate it. 😌 I follow you too, there are some interesting blogs there.
Right now my goal is to get above 2k HP, because then my voting power is above the dust border of 0.02
Thanks for sharing! - @yonilkar
