How Lucky Are You Really? Fortune Winners Arrive on spl-stats.com

Welcome back everyone!

This was actually the feature I had been working on before Visions of Verico suddenly dropped and completely shifted my focus toward keeping the Land Manager up and running. 😄

Now that everything has settled down a bit, it's time to get back to some of the ideas that have been sitting on my wishlist for SPL Stats.

This one has been on that list for quite a while.

There is one small downside though... my AI coding tokens ran out. 😅
That meant it was back to good old manual coding again. Not that I really mind. It was actually fun to get my hands dirty again. AI still reviewed my code afterwards, but this feature was mostly built the old fashioned way.

Who's Actually Lucky?

We've all seen people showing off their Fortune Draw rewards.

Some players seem to win every other week, while others are convinced they have the worst luck imaginable.

So I thought...

Can we actually measure it?

Well... now we can.

I built a brand new Fortune Winners page that tracks every verified winner from both Ranked and Frontier Fortune Draws.

You can now see:

  • The all time Top 10 Ranked Fortune winners
  • The all time Top 10 Frontier Fortune winners
  • Every Fortune card won by individual players
  • Search for any account and see exactly what they've won

Just a fun feature... but one I've wanted to build for a long time.

Reverse Engineering the Draw

I originally expected this project to be fairly straightforward.
I figured there would simply be an API that returned the winners.

Well...
There wasn't.

Instead I ended up reverse engineering how Splinterlands determines the Fortune Draw results. After digging through the verifier and reproducing the same logic, I now generate the winners exactly the same way Splinterlands does.

In all of my testing the results have been 100% accurate.

If you do happen to notice a card that you believe is incorrect, please let me know which draw and which card it is. I'd love to investigate it, but so far every result has matched perfectly.

Frontier Deserves Some Respect

One thing I personally enjoy seeing is the separate Frontier leaderboard.
In my opinion those wins deserve a little extra respect.

Frontier requires you to actually play the matches yourself, and there are no SPS staking bonuses giving you additional entries.

Every ticket is earned by playing.
That makes those prizes feel just a little bit more special.

Your Accounts Are Already There

When you visit the page while logged in, your monitored accounts are automatically loaded for you.
Of course you're also free to search for anyone else.
Want to see who's secretly the luckiest player in Splinterlands?
Now you can. 😄

Or perhaps confirm your suspicion that your own luck is absolutely terrible...

Here is such example of a lucky dude @zekrom (nothing but love my friend, well deserved)

Up To Date

The worker automatically synchronizes completed Fortune Draws every 30 minutes.

That means new winners should normally appear somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour after a Fortune Draw has finished.

You can find the page here:

Other Improvements

Besides the new Fortune Winners page, a few other improvements also made it into this release.

Card Collection

Cards printed in multiple editions now correctly appear as separate entries instead of being merged together.

Missing cards also behave much better when using foil filters, making it much easier to identify what you're still missing for each edition.

Verico Support

The new Visions of Verico edition has been added to SPL Stats.

Backend Improvements

Behind the scenes I also migrated all API calls to all to the api.splinterlands.com endpoint, preparing SPL Stats for future development and testing endpoint (mavs-sl).

What Do You Think?

As always, I'd love to hear your feedback.
This feature is mostly just for fun, but I think it's a neat way to finally answer the question:

Am I actually unlucky... or does it just feel that way? 😄

And don't worry...
I've got a few more surprises planned for SPL Stats over the coming weeks.

If the market wants to stay slow, I might as well keep building cool tools for the community. It certainly keeps my mind off looking at the value of my account every day. 😂

Until next time,

Beaker signing off!

Great feature, one request would be to see number of draws the account was involved in as well as entries just so I can really rue andrealion winning 7 draws from half as many as I entered 😂, also if you could see your own results as a line on the leaderboard would be good

@thebadwitch has been pretty unlucky when you look at the entries other with 8 wins

Yeah, I've thought about that as well. The main downside is that I'd have to store every entry for every participating player, instead of just the 76–78 winners per draw that I keep now. That would increase the amount of data quite a bit.

I'll keep thinking about it though, and I might experiment with it in the future to see how much storage it would actually require. If it turns out to be reasonable, it's definitely a feature I'd like to add.
