Land Manager Update: More Worksite Automation and Better Rental Controls

Welcome back everyone,

It has been a busy week behind the scenes. A lot of time was spent improving stability, fixing edge cases, and getting the platform ready for the upcoming proposal. While many of the changes were technical in nature, there are also several new features and quality of life improvements that should make managing land much easier.

Let's take a look at what changed.

Feeding Workers Is Now Much Easier

One thing that became clear after players started using the Worksites section is that completed constructions were not always obvious.

A worksite can finish construction, but it still requires workers to be fed before it becomes active. This often created confusion because a finished plot could look like it was still under construction.

The Worksites tab now clearly shows when a worksite is ready and allows you to feed workers directly from the interface.

New: Fix Grain Deficit

This is probably my favorite addition from this update.

Sometimes a worksite is ready, but the region simply does not have enough grain available to feed the workers. Previously this meant manually figuring out where to get grain from.

Now there is a dedicated Fix Grain Deficit button.

The system will automatically look through your other regions and determine the best way to cover the shortage based on your configured strategy.

This can include:

  • Moving available grain from another region
  • Converting surplus resources into grain
  • Purchasing grain when needed

It has a confirmation dialog with the proposed solution

Once the grain arrives, you can immediately feed the workers and activate the worksite.

A lot less clicking and a lot less searching through regions.

Improved Rental Worker System

The rental system received several improvements as well.
The biggest change is the introduction of configurable batch sizes.

Instead of trying to rent workers for every empty slot at once, you can now choose how aggressively the system searches the rental market.

Available batch sizes:

  • 10
  • 20
  • 50
  • 100
  • All

Smaller batches allow the system to recheck market conditions more often, which can lead to better worker matches when filling large numbers of plots.

Instead of separate planning and execution buttons, the system now shows a confirmation screen before any rentals happen. This keeps the process easier while still letting you review everything before confirming.

Current rental settings are also displayed directly on the page so you can quickly verify your configuration without reopening the settings menu.

New DEC Actions Tab

As more features were added, the rental section started to feel crowded.
To keep things organized, DEC related actions now have their own dedicated tab.

This makes it much easier to find staking related actions and keeps the rental section focused purely on worker management.

DEC Alerts Got Smarter

The DEC monitoring system has been improved.
Previously there were situations where the site could suggest a DEC shortage even though your account actually had enough DEC staked overall (when running construction while you have staked DEC).

The calculations now look at your total land operation rather than individual regions in isolation.
The result is fewer false alerts and a much clearer overview of your actual staking situation.
In addition, the system can now also notify you when you have more DEC staked than necessary. This makes it easier to identify situations where some DEC could potentially be unstaked and used elsewhere.

Better Terrain Calculations

I think the team as not updated the card by level image yet 🤣

Players using dual element cards should notice more accurate productivity estimates.

Terrain bonuses are now evaluated the same way Splinterlands handles them, allowing cards with two elements to benefit from whichever element performs best on that terrain.

This mainly improves planning accuracy and helps ensure the recommendations shown by the site better reflect actual in game performance.

💬 Ideas and feature requests are always welcome. No promises but I will take a look and try my best.

Final Thoughts

This update focused heavily on reducing manual work.
Whether it is activating worksites, solving grain shortages, managing rentals, or keeping track of DEC requirements, the goal remains the same: fewer clicks and less micromanagement.

As always, thank you to everyone providing feedback, testing features, reporting issues, and sharing ideas. Many of these improvements came directly from conversations with landowners who use the platform in ways I never would have considered myself.

More improvements are already in the works, so stay tuned.
