Introduction

Welcome back, data lovers! 😄
I’ve got another treat this week—MORE DATA! 😂

So, quick story time— @azircon popped me a message on Discord with a great idea

Something in the line of:

Could we get a widget showing:
Total Praetorian Grain
Total daily grain production
Total daily grain consumption

I figured, we already have production numbers—that part should be easy.
And I know Splintercards.com is showing total supply somewhere, so the data had to be available.

A few hours of digging later, I managed to pull the data from Splinterlands and shape it into a clean widget-style display.
But I didn’t stop there 😏

I decided to push a bit further — Started logging everything to a database so we can track it all over time. 😍

I just pushed a new release of the Splinterlands tool!

🚀 What's New?

The two main additions in this update are:

• 📊 Resource Overview:
  • Current total supply per resource
  • Total daily production
  • Total daily consumption

• 📈 Historical Resource Overview:
  • Watch how supply, production, and consumption evolve over time

🧩 Let's Break It Down

Resource Overview

This new section gives you a daily snapshot of the current total supply of each resource, based on leaderboard data splinterlands.

You’ll also see:

• How much of each resource is being produced daily
• How much is being consumed daily

Each land plot consumes grain, and if you're running research or SPS production, you’ll also need iron, wood, and stone. So this overview helps track the pressure on your resource economy.

Historical Tracking

Yep, I’ve started tracking these numbers over time, too.

Total Supply Over Time

You can double-click any resource in the legend to isolate it in the chart—makes it easier to focus when things get messy.
That trick works on all the charts, btw!

⚙️ Daily Production & Consumption

This chart gives you a feel for what’s being produced and burned every day. Super handy for spotting when things are out of balance.

📉 Net Resource Flow

The final chart shows whether each resource is net positive or negative over time.

Right now, you’ll notice that grain is running at a deficit. That’s expected—after a long period of hoarding grain, we're finally in the phase where it's getting used up.

You can also select just one resource to zoom in for a cleaner look:

🔧 A Quick Note on the Project

Just a reminder:
This is a hobby project built during my spare time using free services (Streamlit + Supabase). So… yeah, sometimes it might hit usage limits. 😅
If that happens, I’ll look into other hosting options, but until then, I’ll keep it running as best I can!

And yep—it’s still actively being developed, so expect the occasional bug or weird behavior. That’s all part of the fun.

🛠️ Heads Up: New Resource Coming Soon!

Next week, a new resource is being added to the game, and that means...

⚠️ Some downtime is expected while I update the tool.

This will be a good test to see how easy it is to update everything. I’m honestly a bit nervous about how smooth that’ll go 😅 but here’s the plan:

1. Get the data storage updated (so some errors might pop up temporarily)
2. Update all the screens that need to show the new resource
