Ruleset strategy / analysis: Equal Opportunity

Ruleset strategy twitter.png

Introduction

This week equal opportunity. Always a very ruleset I like to see open many team setups. Lets deep dive into this rule set of the week.

Ruleset

All monsters will gain the opportunity ability. With this ability you monsters will attack an enemy monster with the lowest health.

Official ruleset information from splinterlands: List-of-In-Game-Rulesets

Abilities Synergies

Melee monsters in general, because they can now attack from any position.
Abilities that synergies well
Martyr - Most of the time these have low health places wel it can buff to other monsters significant

Poison -
Shield - because now you can place it on every position the and the change on other melee monster is higher with this ruleset.
Demoralize - With this rule set you probably see more melee monster therefor debuff melee attack by 1 is good option.
Thorns - again higher change of melee monster benefits thorns
Reflection shield - as described above thorns is in favor so also expect your opponent to bring some thorns monsters, counter this with reflection shield monsters.

Piercing - Attack through your opponents armor and damage their main health stat and now can attack from any position when melee monster at least.
Camouflage - Continuously deal damage to your target while staying hidden - until first position and now when melee it still can attack from the back.

That were more abilities then I expected and I might even have missed some.

Strategies

Preferred teams

Really depended on other factors like:

  • Other rulesets
  • Mana cap
  • What you opponent is often playing
  • What cards and level do you own/rent

Here are some setups that I like to play. Viewed with the levels and stats that I own.

Summoner#1#2#3#4#5#6

In this setup the Venari Marksrat is key, he has the lowest health it so will be targeted first / hopefully killed twice and boosting chaos dragon and jared scar with +2 attack. Then that is a great starting point for jared scar to trigger the bloodlust more often.

Avoid

Just be careful with low health monster where you place them.
I cannot think of any monsters or abilities that I avoid.

Example battle

Strategy

Nice high mana game. Still I'm going to use 3 mana monster lol.

Rulesets

Briar Patch:
All monster have thorns in combination with equal opportunity this takes down the strategy to use mainly melee monsters

Ferocity:
All monster gain the Fury ability. This double the damage to monsters with the taunt ability

Equal Opportunity:
This week rule set. All monster gain the opportunity ability and all monster will attack the lowest health monster.

The Lineup

Summoner

CardReason
Because the briar patch rule set expect ranged and magic monsters. therefor quix the devious is nice debuff of the possible ranged monsters.

Monsters Lineup

#1#2#3#4#5#6

Carnage Titan (lvl 3)
The shield will reduce the thorn damage from 2 to 1. and with the double attack it does 6 damage in one turn that is a lot and probably unexpected in the front.

Chaos Dragon (lvl 3)
One monster to buff already a high health and high damage monster with blast one of my favorite dragon monsters.

Venari Marksrat (lvl 1)
This monster in the team to be killed twice, in combination with the resurrect of Adelade Brightwing. Then it will buff the Chaos Dragon and Jared Scar.

Jared Scar (lvl 4)
This will be fun when it is buffed and can kill some extra monsters. The bloodlust will increase and overwhelm the enemy.

Adelade Brightwing (lvl 3)
Is in the team for the ressurect so the the Venari Marksrat can Martyr twice.

Djinn Renova (lvl 6)
Triage to heal itself when it gets hit by an sneak monster.

Rounds

Start :

Strong high mana monster of my enemy love the Cornealus all types of reflect damage and also, would love to own one. Still the bloodlust is my hope 😁.

Round 1:

A bit more monsters died then expected. Also the Vernari MArksrat look at the damage of jared scar 10 damage with piercing.

Round 2:

image.png
Two strong monsters killed and bloodlust trigger now 11 damage and not the targeted monster so jared scar can continue with the bloodlust streak

Round 3:

image.png
Another kill 12 damage and 12 health it is unstoppable 😁.

Round 4:

image.png
13 damage now Cornealus in the front and cannot attack anymore, battle is over.

Round 5:
