📖 Introduction

Another season is in the books.

For me, it was mostly a season of playing Frontier and continuing to build tools and applications for the community. At the same time, Splinterlands keeps delivering new features, events, and initiatives, even while market prices continue to drift lower.

I'll be honest, I try not to pay too much attention to the negativity that often comes with falling prices. It's never fun to watch asset values decline, but focusing only on price can make you miss everything else that is happening in the ecosystem.

That said, the current market creates a bit of a catch 22 for me. I find myself reluctant to spend DEC even when I want the items being offered. Rationally, I know that if something costs $9 and requires 36,000 DEC, it's still a $9 purchase. But because that DEC was earned, collected, and accumulated over time, my brain keeps translating it back into the old peg value and suddenly it feels like I'm spending $36 instead of $9. I'm sure I'm not the only one struggling with that mindset, and if everyone thinks the same way it becomes even harder for the economy to recover.

On the positive side, I've absolutely loved the Summer Fun event. I picked up a Magnificent Gift, partly to support the team and the community, and I was lucky enough to receive an Generous Gift. Today I also sent several Fine Gifts to fellow community members. It brought back some of those Winterfest vibes where people were simply having fun, sharing rewards, and spreading a little goodwill throughout the community.

During down markets, I try to focus less on the value of my assets and more on why I joined in the first place. I enjoy the game, I enjoy building tools around it, and most of all I enjoy being part of this community. Of course, I hope that one day I can take some value and risk off the table, but personally I don't think this is the moment. Right now feels like the time to keep building, keep supporting the project, and keep moving forward.

The Splinterlands team continues to impress me. Despite being a relatively small team, they keep delivering new content, improving existing systems, and making difficult decisions when necessary. That isn't always easy, especially during challenging market conditions.

My hope is that both the team and the DAO can continue moving toward a sustainable future where the game, the ecosystem, and the community can steadily grow into something even bigger and healthier over time.
