Share my battle Cruel Sethropod
Intro
A monster i use occasionally especially when there are low mana games so i can place more monsters on the battlefield. Most of the time a effective strategy. I always use it as a tank. Furthermore nothing special on this card.
I like the design the lobster with evil mouth.
This monster can also be used when the ruleset back to basic is into play then you don't overpay it with mana for abilities that are not able to use.
THEME: CRUEL SETHROPOD
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: WATER
Attack: MELEE
Abilities:
Stats:
Low mana card with decent health and shield. My version is a level 4. As you can see it will not get any abilities therefore probably not played that often. It is weak against magic because the shield become useless then.
Strategy
Low mana game with no healers and no legendarily this might be a good time to bring up the Cruel Sethropod with some extra monsters. Earth is not playable so in favor for the water splinter.
Often Cursed Windeku is played with these low mana games so i also need to bring some range if it's possible.
Rulesets
Heal out
No heal monsters can be used
Lost Legendaries
No legendaries can be used
The Lineup:
Summoner
Card | Reason |
---|---|
Currently my most played summoner i really like him and trying to levelup him futher |
Monsters Lineup
1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th |
---|---|---|---|
Cruel Sethropod (lvl 4):
Star of this week low mana, which makes it possible to select more monsters especially some range, if Cursed Windeku will chosen by my opponent.
Hardy Stonefish (lvl 3):
Second tank for only 1 mana to protect my archers if my Cruel Sethropod is killed.
Down side is can only attack when it gets in the front
Xenith Archer (lvl 3):
First archer for 2 mana still 3 health which is nice.
Igor Darkspear (lvl 1):
Second archer with 4 health for 2 mana is great i use him often to fill up the team as protector of the backline.

Rounds:
Start :
Nice setup for my opponent some magic damage which is not good for the Cruel Sethropod. Especially the life leech is great. Even number of monster while i have i more monster that can do damage.
Round 1:
Quick kill of Carrion Shade and the Chaos Agent which leave only the magic monster left. Don't like the snipe of Death Elemental that will kill my Xenith Archer.
Overall i'm optimistic about the outcome of this battle.
Round 2:
As expected he killed my Xenith Archer. But lucky the Death Elemental is death. Here you can see how strong the Cruel Sethropod is with his 2 damage holding up the front by himself even against some magic monsters.
Round 3:
It is a win and the Cruel Sethropod is still standing/swimming
Also nice to see the increase in the DEC reward. This is much better than ~0.8, this was before the update.
Conclusion
Very happy the strategy i will use it more often. Play with more monsters with lower mana in a low mana game. Rather then one stronger/more expensive monster.
Was there a possibility that my opponent could have won with his lineup. Not according splintertools
I was also wandering when my opponent would have changed the life sapper to the back if he had a change according splintertools
Thats all for this week hope you enjoyed reading this battle report. See you all on the battle field
