The Big Leap: Buying a Keep

During a recent @ourfadedglory stream, I made the bald move, I bought a keep.

It wasn’t just a random purchase. I traded my Land Worker card to make it happen (+ some extra SPS). That card gave me a grain boost, but the odds of hitting a jackpot with it were around 1%.

After seeing my Frontier results—where I had a 1.5% chance and playing with 3 accounts and still pulled nothing in the last weeks.
I thought, “Why cling to slim odds?” I added some SPS to sweeten the deal, and just like that, the keep was mine.

Why a Keep? My Land Fascination

Land in Splinterlands has always fascinated me. I even built a land website to track stats (https://land.spl-stats.com/). I already know how keeps work, but now that I own one, I can feel the data. I can program my tools based on real experience. It’s not just about me—it’s about bringing more value to the community with data I can trust.

And i already know the tract where i bought the keep is in region 65 and tract 3 is not highly populated and has many more plot on sale. but that is part of the gamble.

Nerves in a Down Market

I won’t pretend I’m not nervous. We’re in a down market, and this could be brilliant or foolish. But as they say, buy when others are fearful. I’m playing the long game—two years out. I’ll only know if this was a win or a lesson when that time comes.

Scattered or Focused?

Now that I have the keep, I’m wondering: do I consolidate my lands here or stay spread out? I hope others join this region, but I’m not pushing anyone. I’m just sharing my journey, and we’ll see how it pans out.

Imagine If: The Future of Land

We’re still early—only work sites are active. @cryptomancer is working on the next phase: buildings. Once buildings come in, the land economy will get more complex, and much more exciting. That’s why I’m here, there’s so much more to land than what we see now. I think many are sleeping on it.

Multitasking and Feedback

As I do this, I’m playing Frontier and chatting with AI. It’s not easy doing both! I know we can refine the writing style and approach, but that’s for another blog, this was/is my first experiment with it.
And still i had to adjust many small things in the blog and format it a bit)
