Season End: Card Market Going Crazy

avatar

The current season is about to end in a few days and card rentals are going crazy. What's crazier though was the rental prices -- it has completely gone out of whack.

Earlier I looked at the rental market and was surprise to see that the current prices of cards being rented out have increased a lot. This was especially true for gold foil cards that could increase the players collection power.

Players looking to climb into a higher league would often rent gold foil cards that could greatly increase their collection power in order to reach the league they're aiming for.

Since gold foil card gives more collection power and a 10% increase of DEC that one could potentially received per battle it's only a given that they would be a lot more expensive than their non gold foil counterparts.

But still the increase in prices are absurdly high, sometimes as high as 200% percent increase. Of course there would be cards that would still be rented in a more affordable prices but the moment they appear they would be instantly rented. This leaves many would-be renter two choices: Rent in the more expensive ones or not rent at all.

Personally I have only rented 3-4 regular cards these season since I just want to see how the market works. The most expensive card that I have rented was a Venari Wavesmiths which was priced less than a DEC per day.

But considering that I'm just in the Bronze III league there's really no reason for me to rent more cards.

That said it's possible that I would try for a higher league next season since the higher league gives better rewards. Of course I could also just remain in Bronze III as well.

What I'm trying to say was that if the price of renting cards remained absurdly high, I might just choose to remain in my current league.
