Beccss's Road to Diamond I in Splinterlands

Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog post

For those who don't know me, my name is Beccss and I am a Splinterlands player and tournament host on Twitch.

I have been playing Splinterlands since February 2022 and used to make Diamond 1 at the end of each season, but since the Modern and Wild split, I haven't been able to get past the beginning of Diamond 3 in Modern.

For the next few days, weeks, months (hopefully not years) we will be going on a journey together to try and get into Diamond 1.

As you can see from the image above, the new season has just started and I am currently working for diamond chests. At the end of last season I just touched diamond 3 one day before end of season and I didn't continue playing as I didn't want to drop back into Gold.

For this current, and upcoming season I want to work my way through Diamond and upgrade my deck from Silver to Gold, potentially Diamond.

We are going to perfect most of our rulesets starting with little league and 'odd mana only' as these are the challenges I get the most.

At present, this is my current deck, I haven't included reward cards as these include wild cards which I am not currently to get into Diamond 1 (More like Silver III):

My red deck does need a lot of work as I only have one decent summoner... Even then she is only Silver ready at level 4 which is why this is one of my weaker decks.
Having the Antoin Platoon at level 6 (Gold ready) does help in certain rule types including position, as it collects lives and becomes an even better tank by the time it reaches first position. Cards like Tinderlock and Technowizologist need to be upgraded to have their fury and Magic reduction (Silence). Obviously all of my summoners need to be upgraded too but for now, that's just a rental.

It looks like my blue deck is my strongest set with quite a lot of the cards being level 3 (legendary) - level 6 which is what I need to progress to Diamond I. One of the main downfalls of this set of cards is I don't have strong enough summoners to enable the abilities my monsters have which makes me spend even more money on rentals as we all know summoners cost the most.
My aim for the blue deck is to make it as versatile as possible as there are loads of opportunities to counter most decks. -1 Magic, +1 Speed, Shields and blast reduction. Blue is definitely one of the strongest decks out there at the moment and it would be great to get them all to level 5+ to make it an even better team.

With Green being a very strong magic and range deck, and a new summoner in the mix helping with the range, I have a good start on utilising Obsidian and Fernheart. However, it's clear I favoured Magic over range a long time ago as my range cards are sitting more on 1 BCX. A lot of their abilities are missing. With a gold version of Queen Mycelia (Not in the photo but i promise it's there) who has amplify and levelling up Beatrix (who has thorns) and Iza (with Scavenger), those three alone will boost my deck as the thorns will do double damage and Iza will be able to be played in first position while she has the stun - with Fearnheart.

In terms of the magic part, I need to invest in a Dr. Blight lvl 3 to achieve the scavenger, affliction and poison, and upgrade the Goblin Physic to reduce the other team's magic. Again, I need to look into other summoners to ensure that all the monster's abilities can be used, but much like all my other decks that is a rental thing right now.

Light is a hard one for me as it is very hit and miss. So far, I feel like I have perfected little league / low mana light and also High mana light, but I haven't got the hang of middle light right now.
Most of the cards I play with in this splinter are legendary cards which I only own 1BCX of - this is no good for someone who is in Gold, so yet again I am spending way too much money on rentals as they're too expensive to purchase.

A few of my first purchases in this deck will be Grandmaster Rath to level 2 so Uriel can have his healing, Time mage to level 5 for the rust, Adelade Brightwing for the cleanse and resurrect and High Priest Darius for the resurrect too. I am still looking into this deck to work out my playing style so expect to see some light updates in the near future.

When I first joined the game I played a lot of death...like a lot. If you watched my previous teams they would all be death with a bit of earth if death wasn't available. Now, I haven't played as much and it's extremely obvious.

I need to get Cursed Winduku to level 6 so he has self heals which will work very well with Cabalist with the Amplify.
This is another deck I need to look into as I am not sure where to start to get this to a good diamond level so hopefully I will have more to say later down the line.

I think the picture speaks a thousand words when it comes to dragon. This modern deck needs a lot of work done to it.

I don't see much wrong with my neutral deck right now, but I try to avoid them as much as possible (except Dr. Blight). Maybe it's because it's something I don't know how to utilise in my team or because my cards aren't as good as the original decks. All I know right now is that I need to invest into a Cornealus as he is seen a lot more in higher leagues.

This was just an introduction to my plans and where I am starting from. Hopefully as I make my way through to Diamond I everything I have said above actually happens and my deck gets better to help me progress faster.
