Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

This week's battle analysis features 2 top ranked bronze players, Roguex and Carlaganda15. It is a Life vs Earth matchup. Let's have a look on the strategies they would be executing in this match.

Life VS Earth

This is a white vs green matchup. Roguex has selected Lorna Shine as her summoner, that has the ability to provide the Divine Shield buff which protects monsters from initial damage. While Carlaganda15 opted to go with Obsidian, a summoner that provides magic buff damage of plus one to all magic class monsters. The mana cap is set at 25 and the ruleset in play is called Unprotected which means that no armor and armor buff will take effect.

The Chosen Ones

Life has selected 6 monsters namely the Warrior of Peace as the tank which has the demoralize ability that reduces all enemy melee attack power by 1, Binding Reflector has no skill and will act as secondary attack. White is focusing on back line damage with 3 monsters the Dumacke Exile, Stitch Leech and Uraeus all having the sneak ability to target the last position enemy monsters, Soul Fiend is added to the lineup as well which will act as protection from sneak attacks.

Earth lineup implies a magic heavy lineup composed of Unicorn Mustang as its first position and with the Void ability will reduce incoming magic damage. Doctor Blight has the affliction and camouflage skill that will prevent it from being targeted not unless it is in the first position, Goblin Psychic with tank heal will be healing up the first position Mustang. Grenadier has the oppress ability, its ranged attack will deal double damage when hitting a monster that has no attacks. And lastly the Fungus Fiend which will absorb some backline damage and is a zero to cast monster.

Round 1

The first casualty of this match is the Fungus Fiend, an attack from the Dumacke Exile removed it from play. While the unicorn mustang was first to attack, the warrior of peace did not recieved any damage due to its divine shield buff given by Lorna Shine.

Past halfway of the first round, the Grenadier was next to be sent to the graveyard. Fatal blow was dealt by the stitch leech. While the Grenadier was able to deal double damage to the warrior of peace before it died. Roguex is capitalizing on the lack of backline defense from Carlaganda15 lineup and has the upper hand early into this match.

Round 2

By the second turn of the 2nd round. The goblin psychic was removed from contest. Dumacke Exile again dealt the killing blow following up from an attack of Uraeus from the previous round. Life still has its complete lineup. And unluckily the attack of the unicorn mustang has been evaded by the warrior of peace. White's tank is proving to be very effective in this match up.

On the sixth turn, the warrior of peace was finally been eliminated by an attack from Doctor Blight. However, the Unicorn Mustang's health has significantly dropped due to attacks from uraeus and stitch leech. Earth is down to 2 monsters while the opponent still has five.

Round 3

No monster was lost this round, however the unicorn mustang is down to one health. It was able to avoid an attack from the stitch leech reason that it is still alive. Doctor blight connected an attack to the Blinding reflector and is down to three health. Carla and her lineup is still behind in monster count and it is not looking good for them.

Round 4

The Unicorn Mustang opens up the fourth round with an attack on the Warrior of Light eliminating it from the contest. Roguex still has a comfortable advantage as all of his remaining monsters still has their divine shield up.

Immediately after, the Dumacke Exile's attack landed on the Unicorn Mustang who was already sitting at very low health and is now out of contention. Only Doctor Blight remains from the green team and I honestly don't see a comeback from this one.

Combined attacks from the Stitch Leech and Uraeus was enough to secure the victory fort the white team. The lack of backline defense proved to be fatal in this match-up. Paired with the divine shield ability this match ended with the white team having a very comfortable lead and would be ready even if there three or more monsters left in play.
