Possibilius the Wise vs Kelya Frendul

It is a mirror matchup between two water decks. Time to see who will prove to have a better command of their aquatic monsters. The match is set at 36 mana cap. Four elements were available for this set, they could have chosen either earth, dragon or death, but as we can see both opted for water. The first team has selected Possibilius the Wise as their summoner. It gives all monsters the reach ability which will allow melee monsters to attack from the second position, it's next ability will give all allied monsters the trample ability this too only affects melee monsters. The last skill of this summoner is giving all friendly units plus 2 health at the beginning of the match.
The second team's choice of summoner is Kelya Frendul which gives all monsters a bonus buff of 1 speed and 1 armor.
The ruleset of this match is the Up to Eleven Modification. All monsters gain the amplify ability which increases the damage of magic reflect, thorns, return fire by 1.

The Lineup.

The first team opens up with Venari Marksrat on first position. It seems to be a sacrificial card due to its martyr ability (when it dies, adjacent monsters gets +1 to all stats). Coastal Sentry is on the second position which is deemed to be the true tank in this lineup, it has the double strike ability which allows it to attack twice each round. Demented Shark is in third position which gives all friendly units +1 melee damage due to its inspire ability. Noa the Just has a debuff which reduces all enemy armor by 2 quickly countering the summoner of the second team. Venari Wavesmith has the protect ability that grants two armor to all friendly units. Last on the lineup is Two Gun Pete, a ranged monster with 2 health for just 1 mana cost. This lineups focus is to deal physical damage and removing armor while amplifying their own armor.

On the other side Baakjira takes on the tank position it has the void skill which reduces incoming magic damage, as well as the slow debuff reducing all enemy monster speeds by 1. Djinn Oshannus takes on the off tank role, a durable and speedy water monster that also has the void ability. Coral Wraith is in the middle of the pack with the sneak ability will deal damage to enemy backlines. Halfling Alchemist has the halfling ability reducing the damage of the monsters it hits by 1. Axemaster is a ranged monster with double strike ability. Noa the Just was a similarly selected card reducing armor by 2 for all enemy monsters. This lineup mixes a balance of front and backline assaults while also prioritizing armor and damage debuffs.

Round 1

Midway into the first round, combined attacks from Djinn Oshannus and Axemaster was able to succesfully take down the Venari Marksrat. But who actually favors this? As the death of this monster will result in giving a plus one buff to an adjacent ally which is the coastal entry.

By the end of round 1. The double strike of coastal sentry and the demented shark was enough to take down the enemy tank Baakjira. However, a connecting attack from the halfling alchemist was able to reduce the damage being dealt by the coastal sentry. The monster count is even with 5 monsters a piece.

Round 2

Djinn Oshanus managed to evade multiple attacks from the first team due to its high speed. The first team has another monster sent to the graveyard losing their Two Gun Pete from an attack ffrom the Coral Wraith. It appears that the second team has a pretty good first position tank with a speed advantage.

Round 2 ends with both Djinn Oshannus and Coastal Sentry left with depleting lives. Team 2 enters the third round with a small advantage of having 5 monsters to 4.

Round 3

The higher speed monsters of team 2 opens up attacks. The coastal sentry is now taken down from opening and consecutive attacks from Djinn Oshannus and Axemaster. It is now an uphill battle for team 1 as they lost their strongest attacking card. They need to take down the enemy tank fast.

Despite being down to 2 hp. Djinn Oshannus survives as it was able to avoid attacks from the Demented Shark and take no damage from the Venari Wavesmith. Only 3 monsters left to be eliminated before team 2 claims victory.

Round 4

Despite being at full health on the opening of the fourth round. The Demented Shark was removed from contest by combined and successive attacks from Djinn Oshannus, Axemaster and Halfling Alchemist. The venari wavesmithg is also taking damage from attacks from the Coral Wraith. From this point on it will just be a clean up job.

Round 5

Coral Wraith completes the job of eliminating Venari Wavesmith. The first team is left with no attacking monsters and is just waiting for the inevitable to happen.
image.png

Round 6

The barrage of attacks from team 2 ends this match and the Coral Wraith deals the final blow on Noa the Just. Djinn Oshannus has been a key factor in this match together with the well coordinated monster selection of halfling alchemist and axemaster all working in great synergy.

There's been a good show of cards and monster selections in this match. But in the end there can only be one winner. Having a balanced approach which could cater to a number of strategies is always a great strategy to have in the pocket. Great game well played.
