Astral Entity vs Astral Entity

This is a mirror matchup with the broken arrow ruleset where ranged attack monsters will not be allowed. The mana cap is set at 25 and only death and dragon lineups are active. Seems to me that picking up the dark splinter is a good choice given that this is a low mana pool match. The astral entity summoner also allows it to resurrect one friendly monster after it dies. It also gives all friendly monsters an increased chance of evading both melee and ranged attacks. It also provides a debuff that removes 2 armor from all enemy monsters.

The Lineup

The first team chose the tank Harklaw which has the shield ability that reduces damage from melee and ranged attacks by 50%.Shadowy Presence is the off tank a low mana cost card that has high hp good for absorbing damage. Undead Badger and Silent Sha-Vi are melee ranged monsters that has the sneak ability which will allow it to target last enemy units. Corpse Fiend is a 0 mana cost monster which can draw some attacks to it. Uraeus completes the lineup with its sneak ability. This lineup focuses on dealing damage on the backlines while maintaining a tanky frontline position.

On the flip side, Cursed Windeku is on the first position which has the thorns ability, that when hit with a melee monster attack does 2 melee damage back to the attacker. Theorosa Nightshade is at second position that deals magic damage. Undead Badger, Silent Sha-Vi and Uraeus are all backline targeting monster. Corpse Fiend completes the roster as a backline damage absorber. This lineup also focuses on dealing backline damage while returning damage via thorns and a little bit of magic damage.

Round 1

The Corpse Fiend of second team fell from an attack from the Undead Badger. But this card will be resurrected by the Astral Entity.

Silent Sha-vi connects with an attack and this time making sure that the corpse fiend will be out of the game.
image.png

Team 1 Uraeus has been killed by second teams silent Sha-vi but this card will be resurrected again.

Round 2

With some streak of luck the Uraeus of the first team evaded a lot of attacks from the enemy team. And got to connect with its own attack killing off the Uraeus of Team 2.

Round 3

Opening the third round the Undead badger of team 2 finally managed to eliminate the Uraeus of team 1.
image.png

Back to back kills from Team 2 as the Silent Sha-Vi dealt a fatal blow to the Corpse Fiend.
image.png

Round 3 ends with 4 monsters a piece. The Harklaw tank of the first team is running dangerously low on health. While the Silent Sha-vi of the second team also is on low health. It is a match still too close to call.
image.png

Round 4

Undead badger connects an attack on the Silent Sha-Vi giving team 1 the upper hand.
image.png

Silent Sha-vi scores another kill on the undead badger and team 2 is now on the ropes with 2 monsters left versus 4.
image.png

Team 2 is quick to retaliate by killing Harklaw. They gain a bit of a ground here.
image.png

Round 5

Theorosa Nightshade was eliminated again by the Silent Sha-vi. It is down to the Cused Windeku to win this one. Will the Thorns damage be enough.
image.png

Round 6

Cursed Windeku managed to evade some attacks and at the same time when the silent shavi connected. the thorns return damage made it kill itself.
image.png

And in a repeat manner the undead badger connected with an attack that returned thorns damage to itself and was sent to the graveyard.

Round 7

All that was left was for the cursed windeku to clean up the remaining shadowy presence and secury the victory. What a comeback

Another match well played, a great selection of skills and monster positioning are key to winning a mirror match.
