Kitty vs Kitty

As mentioned above, both players has opted to go with the same summoner Byzantine Kitty, one of the more powerful summoners given its 3 abilities. The first one being a speed buff which gives 2 speed to all friendly monsters. Second skill gives all allies the true strike ability at the start of the battle and last but not the least, Byzantine Kitty's 3rd skill is the tank heal ability, which heals the first position monster every round. This is a 99 mana cap battle which allows any monster to be summoned into play making it a great matchup as the best most powerful cards can be used regardless of its mana cost. The ruleset is standard which means that no additional modifications will take effect in this game.

The Lineup

The first team has selected Grund on the first position which has the double strike ability allowing it to attack twice every round. Oaken Behemoth will be the secondary tank with its high armor of 2 as well as having the reach ability allowing it to attack from the second position and the void armor ability which damages armor first when hit with magic. Ancient Redwood is a high hp (9) and high damage (5) ranged monster which has no problems with its low speed given its true strike buff from Byzantine Kitty. Kron the Undying has the heal ability which restores a third of its life every round. Agor Longtail is a solid off position tank. It is a flying monster which gives it increased chance of evasion together with void armor and taunt ability will make it absorb magic damage from its armor, Uloth Dampir is a ranged hero which has a 50% chance to stun an enemy that it hits.

The second team has some similarly selected monsters, first one being Grund, next Kron the Undying. Sandworm is a melee monster that does tons of damage with sneak ability that attacks the lasts position monster. Mitica Headhunter is a ranged monster that has the snare ability that would counter flying enemies. Ava the Undaunted has the weapons training ability which gives adjacent monsters half its attack power if that monster does not have an attack. With the current lineup this won't take effect. Agor Longtail is the last monster on this lineup that has the taunt, void armor and flying ability.

Round 1

Late into the first round, we have our first casualty, which is the agor longtail of the first team. Mitica headhunter was able to snare it removing its flying ability. And because it has the taunt ability, it all damage was directed to it. the final blow being dealt by the sandworm. Second teams Grund however, has now a lower hp due to the reach attack of the oaken behemoth.

Round 2

The Oaken behemoth both with its magic attack and ranged damage is hitting second teams first and last position monsters dropping their health dangerously low.

image.png
However, the consecutive high speed attacks of Mitica Headhunter and Grunds double strike killed off the first teams tank eliminating it from contest. Oaken Behemoth now moves to first position. AkosiLestr is in a bit of a bind being behind by 2 monsters. while BernieJaden still has his complete lineup of monsters.

And finally, a monster kill from the first team courtesy of Kron the Undying. Second Team's Agor Longtail will no longer be seeing action. But it has done its job surviving for a lot of turns and tanking a lot of damage from the first team. It is now 5v4 with the second team having an advantage.
image.png
And just like that the monster count is even. Second Team's Grund has been taken out by the Ancient Redwood's strong ranged attack sencind it to the graveyard.

Round 3

While Kron has sustained a lot of damage in the early turns, thanks to its heal ability it was able to regain some precious health points allowing it to survive and take out the oaken behemoth. Ancient Redwood now moves to first position where it will be unable to attack but given its high health should be able to take some damage.

A crucial play here in the 10th turn of the third round where Uloth Dampir has stunned the Kron Undying of the second team.

image.png
But second team is quick to recover with an attack from the Sandworm taking out the unprotected Uloth Dhampir. first Team only has one attacking monster left, will it be enough to take out the rest of the monsters of team 2. Or is it possible to still have a draw?

image.png

Round 4

Surprisingly no monsters were lost in this round. The stun effect on Kron the Undying prevented an attack which would have taken out the ancient redwood which was left sitting with 2 health points.
image.png

Round 5

Despite being healed by the summoner Byzantine Kitty, combined attacks from Mitica Headhunter and Ava the Undaunted proves to be too much of a damage for the Ancient Redwood and it is now removed from gameplay. It is now 4 against one and chances for first team to win is now zero.

image.png

All that's left is for the Sandworm to deal the finishing blow slaying Kron the Undying of the first team and securing their victory. Excellent monster positioning combined with the right monster choices gained the win for the second team in this high level bronze battle matchup.

Thank you for the appreciation. It is a great game with dozens of strategies to employ. I would however mention that it requires a lot of patience and time if you are pushing for higher ranks.

You're welcome. So it requires time and patience indeed. I asked the husband to check it out some time ago and he mentioned it's a strategy game so I didn't pursue it.
