With current prices, a Rebellion booster pack would cost around $3.10

Promo Cards

Important to note here is that these 2 cards will only be available during the presale and they are not part of the actual Rebellion booster packs. Every 10 booster packs will get you the Grimbardun Smith. A neutral card that has some tanky abilities. And on top of that each purchase of a booster pack during the presale gives a 1% chance of obtaining Mantaroth. A high HP Legendary card which is sure to be a great card to play on high mana cost battles. Both cards being of neutral element makes it an attractive addition to your collection offering great usability.

The artwork on these cards are just superb!

New Abilities

So there's 4 new monster abilities announced. First is the amored strike, which gives monsters additional melee attack using its armor stat. I wonder if this ability would work in sync with protect which gives all monsters additional armor.
The second skill is Corrosive Ward which seems like a counter to the first new skill above. It deals back 2 damage when hit with a melee attack and also reduces the armor of the attacker by 2. It also counters the repair ability as those that has been corroded cannot have their armor repaired. I think this would also work well with thorns and return fire abilities.
Third skill on the list is called Flank, and for this to take effect, the monster with this ability should be in the first position thus will give the second position monster the reach ability. This is great for glass cannon melee monsters. Those that could not absorb a lot of damage but is capable of dealing lots of damage. Would also work well with monsters that has double attack.
The last new ability is called Lookout which protects adjacent allies by reducing damage by 1 from sneak, snipe and opportunity abilities. I could see this being a great defensive ability to go against back line targetting lineups like we usually see from the life deck.

These 4 new abilities will surely change the current meta.

Dual-Element Summoners

Before, only the dragon summoners could do this. The Rebellion pack will now see 5 new summoners being introduced together with a rare Legendary Dragon summoner. There's also 6 legendary summoners which will be designed by the top 6 purchasers during presale. So we are expecting a total of twelve new summoners. It is mentioned that this dual element summoners will come with a higher mana cost. I am excited to see how players would adjust to this and how different element cards would be combined in their lineup. Imagine a pairing of Kron the Undying and Djinn Oshannus. That would just be something right?

This changes everything. Welcome to a brand new meta and way to play the Splinterlands game.

Summoner Tactics

So this is another one of the new game mechanics.

Summoner cards with this new mechanic will have two different sets of buffs or debuffs that are available for the player to choose from after both players have revealed their teams! It is currently planned that most, if not all, of the Summoners that are part of the Rebellion set will have the Tactics mechanic.

This adds a new dynamic to the game as you could make a final adjustment before going to battle when it comes to selecting a buff or debuff given that your opponents lineup has already been revealed. There's gonna be a lot of tactical adjustments involved for sure.

Time to save up and invest in the Rebellion pack!
