In-Depth water summoner rewards: Outstanding Noa

image.png

One of my best Twitter accounts is Splinterlands. It keeps me informed about all the important news in the ecosystem and #Hive posting events like a media challenge. In my opinion, those challenges are an incredible way of increasing the pride of being part of this community, as every player shares his/her game experience with others, allowing others to learn about everyone's successes and mistakes. For this one, I bring an in-depth post about one of the best cards of all the new rewards set: Noa the Just. I will also share a top Diamond tier battle with a great performance. Hope you like it!!

Fighting against the Bear Market

image.png

When I landed Splinterlands, in September 2021, there were about 400k active accounts per day. I didn't know anything about bots. The Executive team, lead by decisions taken by the DAO is ready to adopt anti-bot measures. And just the decision has driven out our automated enemies from the game. All my initial investments were made in a hyper-inflated economy with a huge amount of users. Adding to the bear market, this situation has driven all my assets into a range of losses of 50-80%. These words would terrify most people, but not me. There are some assets that I highly value (my 2 nodes, my 2 runs, and my beloved Lux overall), and some moves that I regret (buying too many CL packs). I keep a close eye on land (I will buy a couple of plots when Land 1.5 goes live) and also I will keep completing my roster. But the deep answer that allows me to fight this uncertainty is that I love this game and I believe in the Executive team. I am in the mood for Hodling and getting some deals related to investment. Related to the game, with a budget of 800 DEC per in rentals (added to my assets), I manage to end in Champion every single season. Now that with most of the cards, I have reached 75% of the level, it's time to analyze how every single set of rewards can change the dynamics of the game. I will begin this series of posts with my beloved Water Splinter and an outstanding creature.

Noa the Great

One day we'll remember we were rewarded with fantastic creatures like Noa. Noa is just crazy, even played as level 3, he can perform a great part of the mission he is conceived. It's difficult to summarize Noa's strengths but I will do my best as shown in the figure:

If I had to resume Noa's main contribution to the meta, our friend Kelya has taken a great part of the benefits. I will explain since Lux appeared (and took part in Little League), Lux beat Kelya in 80% of the duels. As seasons pass away and people are learning to counter this situation, Noa is an enormous helping hand to Kelya to balance this situation. In low-mid mana matches where just 1 mana is the key, Kelya can perform a better plan than Lux, being able to bring Deeplurker, Uraeus, and Pelacor Mercenary while Lux can't. I have played with much success with a Lux / Quix combo, but Noa has forced me to fit Kelya into my wish list.

Noa can perform an outstanding role as the main focus, thanks to his 6-speed, and return fire can be an authentic headache to the enemy's army. Do you expect a sneaking team? Place him on the back!, are u playing Snipping ruleset? Can be played second and will take all the aggro, Need a reliable tank in low-mid mana matches? Place him first!

Every soccer fan has in his mind Maradona's warm-up as he danced to Life is Life epic disco song. So rust is rust. People that don't get frenzy and passionate about this epic moment in the history of football don't understand what football is, players that don't value Rust, don't understand Splinterlands. Rust is the main debuff I bring to the battlefield. I highly value every creature with rust. An armored enemy creature is more time alive on the battlefield, this triage arrives and interrupts your plan. Rust allows you to hit harder and take your objectives faster. Rust is rust.

What transforms Noa into an absolute headache to the opponent is Martyr. Martyr is a perfect ability for a creature intended to absorb all enemy aggro. Once slayed will buff his neighbors with a +1 stat overall. Can't wait to play Martyr Noa, but I will have to wait until level 6. I will keep doing my best!

Show me the battles! - Noa as a superb backline coverer

What can I say about this wonderful game that has not been said yet? Every single card that is released offers an enormous amount of combat situations and choices that have to be taken fast. I faced a 42-mana, no ranged or neutrals combat, and both players chose the same units. The board looked as follows:

image.png

  • Target aiming ruleset is a kind of battle where the first non-melee creature from the second position til the end takes all the aggro from magical and ranged creatures. This is why both players played Baakjira second.
  • While my opponent chose to place Noa third, I chose to place him last, expecting to taunt the enemy Pelacor Mercenary. This placement was the difference between the Glory and the Hell.
  • There was a fantastic Duel of DiemonSharks that ended in a draw. Take a look at the whole combat and feel free to comment below if you feel so! battle
