Lux Vega changes everything

One of my best Twitter accounts is Splinterlands. It keeps me informed about all the important news in the ecosystem and #Hive posting events like a weekly challenge. In my opinion, those challenges are an incredible way of increasing the pride of being part of this community, as every player shares his/her game experience with others, allowing others to learn about everyone's successes and mistakes. This week that it's reaching its end has been a very special one for me as I have managed to acquire a Lux Vega! The first Neutral Summoner brings lots of alternatives to players. I will describe how I prepared for buying her, which are her strong points, and as always in my post, a tactical example of what I mean. Hope you enjoy it!

Acquiring Lux Vega

All this time we've had DEC value much lower than it's supposed (1kDEC / 1$), and it has been a chance of buying Splinterlands products at a discount. These moves are an opportunity for players that believe in the project to acquire more products at a discount. I've managed to acquire Chaos Legion packs at around 40% / 50% discount, and how was my surprise when Splinterlands' executive team decided that lux would be worth 1000$ divided into 500K DEC and 500 Vouchers in discount. The opportunity was served to me and the only thing that I had to do was to take profit from her. As I run 2 nodes, I had those 500 Vouchers. What else should I need? DEC was around 0.0006 / 0.0007 when I made the purchase. So I picked 1 Lux Vega for less than 400$ Today this card is around 700 in peakmonsters so I won't complain.

So once I had the required amount of money and everything was properly stored in my Splinterlands account I only had to be on my computer at 10 PM in Barcelona and buy her. The hype about Lux did nothing but grow the last week. Would be enough for the people that would want her? Would my connection work well? My wife did not understand why I was staring at my computer's screen 1 hour before the time, pressing F5 nervously and checking my router lights (as you can imagine two days before there had been an issue with my internet provider. So, as most of you are gamers with a long CV like me (I was born in 81 and I've got a daughter of 2) when rains it pours. My little angel passed me her stomachache and fever. Everything was difficult and only my anxiety about picking Lux was stopping me from fallings asleep. Murphy's laws seemed that were ruling my life and it was sure that I was not picking her.

Only over-freaks may understand how this screen could change those bad into good vibes

I wanted her so much because she is my first top-rated summoner, she will help me bring more options when choosing my armies. She is a promo card and every battle won will have a 10% boost (we'll when the executive team will demand SPS stacked to earn SPS - and this purpose has not been sent to DAO as it has been communicated to all players with the changes of the reward system). And.. damn it! She looks freaking awesome!

Lux's strong points

I will try to explain myself better about Lux with a picture of 4 of her best points in my opinion:

• Lux can change a whole army dynamic. All we are used +1 Magic from Obsidian or sometimes useless +1 Attack +1 Speed from Tarsa. What about if only for 1 more mana you buff your army another way around? She can surprise your opponent because the buffs are set in a very different way from her Chaos Legion basic summoners' mates (except Kelya). In a mirror match, my Serpentine Spy will have one extra armor that can save me from a hit. Those army compositions that were destroyed by Mylor, maybe now will resist him. And also don't underestimate this +1 health, even in low mana battles. Now, you can play an army in a "normal" way, with its original summoner, or in a Lux way. The more uncertainty, the more chances of victory. Remember, this game is about guessing enemy plans!

• Speed buffer: This buff deserved a point part. We are in the Speed meta. Speed allows you to hit first, to evade more. Speed makes your creatures look sexier than opponents... Strike first, strike hard, show no mercy. Lira versus Lira in a mirror match? My one will shoot first because she is ruled by Lux! Pelacor conjurer with one extra armor, one extra health, and evading much more - with Adelade repairing and resurrecting him again!! Speed runs the meta and every speed but is like a step closer to the victory.

• Some of Lux Vega's best friends: might be,... Scavo Hireling because he can't be taken down unless blasted and will keep repairing, Pelacor conjurer because of this Magic evading,... but the creature that is meant for Lux is the Chaos Agent. Lux is one mana higher than normal summoners, and you have to make a serious thought in some low mana battles (this mana can be the difference). Don't be afraid to put him in the first position with Lux. The 3 buffs will fit him greatly. I made a whole post about Chaos Agent and how much I love this creature. Feel free to take a look!:

• Finally, last but not the less important you can play Death creatures with a buff. We are used to picking Death summoners thinking about which debuff we will choose. But Lux does the other way around. Weirding warrior will hold one more attack, Lira and she will bring +2 speed and all your creatures will take +1 Health. Does not sound fantastic to you?

Battle result

Here I show you a gold battle with a 24 mana cap and thorns. The most important part of this battle is to show that thanks to Lux, I faced the battle with more arguments for the win. When I face Kelya using death, my main nightmare is Deeplurker, which instakills me Weirding and Agent and also sneak attack (here in the battle my opponent chose a Uraeus Pelacor combo. Weirding is so important in this battle because of amplifying (3 thorns damage hurts!)

As you will see, the battle went great for me, and I think these are the main factors:

1. **Chaos Agent: ** in this battle things did not go well for my agent. Even in this way, he managed to absorb three shots before being destroyed. Not bad for one mana. In some battles, he will become a Nightmare evading and even returning damage. Trust me, trust in the Agent.
2. +1 Armor Counters sneak: All my creatures with +1 Armor granted me some valuable time to allow my team to take the objectives.
3. Weirding amplifies thorns: The only thing better than a Weirding Warrior amplifying damage of all our team is putting a +1 armor for free on him.

Finally, all this strategy was made for Venari Bonesmith to poison all enemy teams and lead my band to victory!
