My short term plans + New players landing page

One of my best Twitter accounts is Splinterlands. It keeps me informed about all the important news in the ecosystem and #Hive posting events like a media challenge. In my opinion, those challenges are an incredible way of increasing the pride of being part of this community, as every player shares his/her game experience with others, allowing others to learn about everyone's successes and mistakes. For this one, I will share my thoughts about the recent roadmap update and I will also share a proposal on how every single Splinterlands player could help to increase the number of players. Hope you like it!

Roadmap updated

A new roadmap has been released for 2023. Although every one of us has a specific Roadmap with some changes, my expectations for this year a high and I believe that every one of us could be longing for a fantastic year that will come. I've been playing #Splinterlands for a year, and I've managed to buy some interesting assets (a couple of nodes, Runi, Lux, and 650 CL packs). But what satisfies me more is the change of a certain feeling. One year ago I was desiring to have reached splinterlands before. Although this feeling will be with me for quite a long, now I am sure that new players that will join the game, will hope to be in my position. For the ones that have not taken a look at the Roadmap this is how it looks like:

As this post will focus on short terms the highlights that I would like to remark on are:

  • SPS staking for battles for Q2: there will be one day that there won't be enough SPS for all of us. I am expecting this day to come (while I am stacking and stacking - around 250 SPS per day). One of the best ways of creating SPS value is finishing the reward system as it was planned, transforming a certain amount of SPS stacked into a requirement to join a league and for the battle rewards.
  • Rebellion: tired of fighting Yodin and these annoying untamed cards. Rebellion launch will send Untamed to Wild format and tons of battle dynamics will change.
  • Guild Alliances: The team is putting so much effort into the social part of the game. Boosting guilds is a part of the game that I am expecting to enjoy.

Short-term thoughts

The whole process of the DEC Batteries token (DEC-B) is proof of how strong the community is on that game. We have turned them into soulbound and they will be a chance to get a certain use case of DEC with a huge discount. As vouchers will be accepted in this trade, I will turn all my vouchers Into DEC-B to help my guild to grow (THGaming Brawlers will go high!). I've got 600 vouchers today, at the change of 200 DEC-B per Voucher represents a total amount of 120.000 KDEC-B.

This part is the one I like most from the first Q. As a Diamond 1 - Champion 3 player, I have to rent my whole collection to battle. In several ones, I miss a certain card whose rental has been interrupted by owner / expired and I have opened peakmonsters fast for a fast rental. Offering Season rentals will simplify my investment plan and I am sure that will transform into some savings as I will establish a 14-day contract. Another thing that I have realized is how important the whole collection of cards is. There are plenty of Diamond matches that I have won much higher in price cards with a Gargoya Devil. The more I Play this game, the more I see every single card counts. Most of the time I don't rent the whole collection just for a question of saving some DEC. I know I will be the kind of player who rent a whole set.

I define myself as anti-bots. I understand that they do their role in terms of rental demand generation and reducing the waiting time for matches but bots learn fast and fast. It generates frustration when you are facing an opponent with thousands of battles in his database and being able to choose an army that acts perfectly for the battle condition. I will welcome any single measure that difficult their life. I don't mind having soulbound rewards as I have not sold any single card that I have been rewarded. I understand that the game will turn into getting the rewards for the SPS it's staked. You wanna run a bot? Go and stake 50k SPS and the rewards will be soul bounded. No economic drain in terms of assets. Declaring that they will review the ranked battles is ok, and I agree with creating as max rulesets as possible, but I would like to establish kinda daily rotation rulesets (where the human brain can win bots). Finally, I love this quarterly promo sale as a way to reward players' dedication to the game.

Finally we find Land. The land is the project for that I've got less information as my budget for investments has gone to other places. I will be ready when the project goes live (meanwhile I prefer learning the game I playing high-ranked leagues). As an SPS validator owner, and being nodes an important part of decentralization in Splinterlands, I will be ready for everything that comes. Also, the SPS delegation shows that the Executive Team wants to increase SPS value for the community. I guess that this is the first part as players will need SPS stacked to play higher leagues and earn rewards. The best is to come!

New Players Landing Page

To finish my post, I would like to share with the community an idea that maybe could help bring more new players to splinterlands. It has taken a whole year for me to understand the game, the ecosystem, the blockchain, and the Economics. I do believe that thousands of thousands of gamers don't know about Splinterlands today. What if we bring a tool that turns everybody of us into a sales manager of Splinterlands. I mean. This game is so great but it's also so big and not easy to explain. What about if we build a welcome pack for new players (the project explained, the ecosystem, the blockchain, economics) and we group it in a landing page ( it could be personalized for every hive user). We could involve the best content creators to develop short videos on each topic and then build a landing page. In the following picture, I present a draft of how it could be:

The key to Splinterland's success is how we attract non-hive users to the game. There are gamers that stay in pay2play and have not still discovered play2earn. In my opinion, having a tool where a newcomer has everything that has to know would ease that jump in. Also, I've got a lot of friends that have tried the game but usually find everything very difficult. How do you feel about this? Would you find it useful?

THANKS FOR REACHING HERE!

Hive - Splinterlands is a great ecosystem to grow in the Crypto world, we are in the best community and we play a game with a solid project and a great future. The only thing we've got to do is believe in the project and fight hard in the arena! Thanks for reading and feel free to share your thoughts. Happy weekend splinters!

In case you are new to this wonderful game here, I leave you my referral

New Players Landing Page is a very good idea.

I found Splinterlands fandom. It is a bit outdated, maybe can do an updated version of that and more comprehensive.
