Tracking progress: Splinterlands & Hive metrics tools and journey

Introduction

It is important to establish and review metrics to track progress, especially in a dynamic ecosystem like Splinterlands and Hive. Keeping an eye on our growth not only helps us stay motivated but also allows us to identify areas where we can improve.

However, tracking numbers is not just about personal progress—it is also about acknowledging the incredible content creators who contribute to the community. This week, I have taken a closer look at the work of @beaker007, a talented content creator and software engineer who has developed free tools for Splinterlands players.

I first came across his work through his SPS Validator post (link), and since then, I have been truly impressed by his contributions. In this post, I will explore some of his tools and share my own Hive progress! 🚀

1️⃣ Splinterlands Metrics via @beaker007 📈

Community contributions play a key role in strengthening the ecosystem, and @beaker007 is a great example of how a technically skilled player can provide valuable tools for both Hive and Splinterlands. His work goes beyond simply playing the game—he actively analyses blockchain data and turns it into useful insights for the community.

One of his most important contributions is the KE Ratio (link). This metric has been adopted by the Splinterlands Hive curator team providing a comparison between Hive posts rewards earned and the Hive Power everyone stands. A lower KE Ratio reflects greater commitment to the community, as it shows that a player is actively engaging rather than just collecting rewards.

Beyond KE Ratio – More Tools for the Community!

Thanks to his technical expertise and his commitment to supporting the community, @beaker007 has developed several tools that extract raw blockchain data and convert it into valuable information. One of these tools is Streamlit, a framework that enables users to build interactive dashboards for analysing Hive data.

One of the most exciting applications of Streamlit is its ability to track Splinterlands' position within Hive. At present, Splinterlands is the 8th largest Hive community in HP, with 14.95M HP, while GEMS holds 18.5M HP.

💡 Can we push Splinterlands into 7th place? The gap is 3.5M HP, which is approximately $1 million ahead. Tracking this figure over time will help us see if we are gaining the influence and strength we need on the blockchain.

Let’s work together and make it happen! 💪🔥 I highly recommend everyone check out this fantastic post , analyze the data, and draw their own conclusions!

2️⃣ The Splinterlands Statistics Tool – A Game-Changer! ⚔️📊

Having the right tools is essential for understanding and improving gameplay. One of @beaker007’s most remarkable contributions is the Splinterlands Statistics Tool (link), An open-source tool that turns your Windows laptop into a data analytics server, providing in-depth insights into all your battle metrics in Splinterlands.

This tool will be extremely useful for me in two areas:

Improving Battle Performance – By tracking detailed battle statistics, it helps players analyze their strategies, spot weaknesses, and see if they are using their cards effectively. Could I be making better choices? This tool helps answer that question!

🔍 Key Features of the Splinterlands Statistics Tool

  • 📊 Card-Specific Statistics: Select any card and track its performance, including win rate, battle count, and most played rulesets.
  • 🤝 Top Pairings: Identify which summoners and units pair best with your chosen card, helping you refine your strategy.
  • 🏆 Summoner Performance Analysis: Discover which summoners contribute the most to your victories and analyze the reasons behind your wins.
  • 📈 Seasonal Tracking: Monitor your rating progress and earnings per season, ensuring you stay on top of your competitive growth.

✅ Enhancing Content Creation & The Summoner University Saga

As a content creator, I am always looking for past battles that fit specific rule sets, creatures, or abilities to illustrate strategic insights in my Summoner University Hive post series. With this tool, I can easily filter and retrieve the most relevant battles, making my content more detailed and engaging.

Thanks to @beaker007, I have now set up my own battle repository, equipped with these fantastic filters, allowing me to analyze matches more effectively and provide even better insights to the community! 🚀📊🔥he has designed it so that even non-technical users can set it up with ease! His clear step-by-step guide made it possible for me, someone with no coding experience, to turn my PC into an analytics tool. 🚀

A big thank you to Beaker for making complex data easy to access and for his dedication to helping the community grow smarter and stronger! 💪🔥

3️⃣ My Hive Progress – Growing Step by Step! 📊🚀

To wrap things up, let’s take a look at my personal Hive progress over the past few months. Tracking these numbers helps me stay motivated and proves that consistency pays off!

Every small step forward brings greater influence in the Hive ecosystem, and seeing this steady growth keeps me focused on my long-term goals. Whether it’s staking more HP, expanding my SPS holdings, or engaging with the community, these numbers reflect my ongoing commitment.

📊 Hive Stats Evolution

📌 SPS Holdings: My main goal is to reach 250K SPS. I still need to decide how to divide my next investment between Conclave Arcana and increasing my political influence in Splinterlands. By the end of the year, I want to have 250K SPS, ensuring a stronger position in the ecosystem.

📌 Hive Power (HP): My target is to reach 2.5K HP by mid-2025, and my February activity suggests I am on the right path! Increasing my Hive influence is a key priority, and I am determined to keep progressing.

📌 Bee Balance: Since I am here for the long term, I plan to keep this key figure below 1.9 at all times. Managing this balance carefully will help me stay sustainable while maintaining my commitment to the ecosystem.

📌 Followers: In my opinion, this is the most important metric. The more followers I have, the wider my reach, leading to greater engagement, stronger connections, and a bigger impact in the Hive and Splinterlands communities! 🚀🔥

Overall these are my main objectives transformed into Badges:

Looks like you're on a good path! My goals are similar, but I'm a litte behind - buying 100 SPS and 1000 DEC each day, the first for my goal of 150k SPS this year, the second for Conclave (if I don't spend it on Tofu before that :-D ). HP is growing nicely, I hope to get to 2k in June.

All that comes from my HIVE activity, and I hope that will be enough :-D But I might put in some money when Conclave hits, I'm not that controlled on those things... 😅

Thanks for reading and commenting. Trying to figure here how to get a Max CA Deck... Any guesses about how much it will be! Have a nice evening my German friend! #Vonak

Hm, I think the Starter Pack was 5 cards for 1000 DEC, so 200 DEC per BCX. That's only Rare and Common. Rebellion had 28 Commons (11,200 BCX) and 29 Rare (3,335 BCX), so let's say it's similar and with a lot of luck you "only" need 15k BCX to get those maxed out - that would be a wooping 3 million DEC, so 2,250$. And that is just using the starter packs... That's why I always loved Chaos Legion, it's so cheap and the best starter edition so far, but nobody listens to me (for good reason and with many good arguments, just whining here because I want CL to stay relevant :-D )

We'll be expecting the final details. Great info btw. I am also in love with Chaos Legion, but not for the release prices ^^. IMO with Survival mode and CL rotation from modern, they will hold value over time. But CL is a fantastic set with fantastic staples that will find their place in Valhala. #Vonak

I think beakers tools are great, they have provided so much insight into hive and I’m hoping to use them more to produce some splinterlnds content too

Wow man! Your support means so much! If you told me some days before I would deploy a server on my windows I would tell you are crazy! And thanks to your guidance here I am! I will use it so much for my Summoners University posts! Working on next topic and it's so easy to recover history matches. Lots of love from Barcelona! #Vonak!
