Splinterlands is trying to reinvent itself, but should it?

I've watched the latest AMA on Splinterlands and a lot of changes were thrown out in the space through a lot of change: agile practices, AI incorporation, sale restrategizing, and more communication forums with the users. Some are welcomed, some others are explored, but some simply are like a mirage instead of keeping the team grounded and focused on what needed to be done. Exploring too many new things and spawning on everything that flies might end up in losing focus and confusing not only the team from the Splinterlands but also the players and investors.

Instead of being good at everything, doing a bit from anything and the new tech, I think that is better to be good at a few things and that will ensure a solid user base. Splinterlands has amazing art and it breaths and pounds like a living heart, so choosing an AI to randomly generate art (like I did in the picture from above) will take that warm element out. Even if we might be surprised by some things, I think is more important to have a human touch that will give us a specific emotion when we see one character or hear a story from the lore of Splinterlands.

The Agile approach is welcomed and as I am a software engineer myself I wonder how come Splinterlands didn't use that previously, in one form or the other. So using some more "human" processes is the way to go and ensures that the right culture is growing within the company and that the founder members stick to it. This is the way to guarantee the continuation and not to brake anything into ashes by throwing things out there and not keeping the essence of it and what has driven it to the highs from the last bull run: people.

I don't think it should be doing that and I believe it's better to do fewer changes or at least space them out. With so many changes, it's hard to even tell which of those changes are working and which ones are destroying the balance of the game. Rushing things tends to do more harm than good most of the time in the long run as it's easier to make mistakes.

My thoughts too! In the art department especially, with all the art weekly challenges, there are so many possibilities. They could probably build a community skin full set by now!

I didn't follow what AI they might be doing, but I am not a fan of any AI art. It is very rare for there to be any good abstract art even by people tbh.

I hope Splinterlands brings more easiness that can lead to bringing more people. Hope this helps.
