Splinterlands - Rebellion forces are rushing into fighting and conquering it all

avatar

The introduction of the Rebellion edition cards in Splinterlands marks the evolution of the game, offering players a fresh array of strategic possibilities and immersive gameplay. Rebellion brings a diverse set of cards, each carefully designed to add complexity and depth to the existing Splinterlands universe. The presale was a success with 441,819 Rebellion packs out of 500,000 packs being sold, which represents over 88% from the goal. And as we move now with the General Sale and with the swift requirement for cards to use as Workers for Land, I believe that the buying trend will continue. Double that by a bullish crypto market which already show appreciation of assets all over the place and we might be for a great end of the year and a promising 2024 for new All Time Highs.

New Tactics

The Rebellion new card edition set introduces incredible second-stage decision Tactics that add a new level of strategic depth to Splinterlands gameplay! This changes everything, requiring player to think in multiple dimensions, thus bringing strategy to a new level. The tactics derive from the following new features of the Rebellion cards.

  • DUAL ELEMENT - Dual Element Summoners give you access to twice the cards when creating a team. Prepare for mind-bending strategies as you blend two different Elements together!
  • ABILITY CHOICE - Once both teams are revealed on the battlefield, you can determine which Summoner ability to apply. Will you buff your team or debuff the enemy?
  • TARGET OPTIONS - Buff your tank or your sneak unit in the rear? Or would it be better to buff your entire team? The choice is yours—but hurry! The clock is ticking!

New Abilities

Rebellion brought to Splinterlands five more game-changing abilities. New dimensions of strategy will be required, but that will catapult the gameplay to a whole new level. Either if it best to play on defense or through yourself on offense, the new abilities will surely make a difference on the battlefield. Here are the abilities that will take every battle to a new level.

  • ARMORED STRIKE - Any unit with this ability gains an ADDITIONAL Melee attack using its Armor stat. This allows characters to improvise with deadly force, using their gauntlets, shields, helmets, or perhaps physical attributes (spikes, hard shells, etc) as weapons!
  • CORROSIVE WARD - When hit with a Melee attack, a unit with this ability does 2 damage to the attacker's armor AND reduces the max armor of the attacker by 2. This is the nemesis to the Repair ability. You can't repair something that's been melted into acidic goo!
  • FLANK - If the unit with this ability is in the first position, then the unit in the second position gains the Reach ability. Prepare to leverage positioning and the element of surprise. Now your first two units can work together to bring down the enemy tank!
  • LOOK OUT - A unit with this ability results in adjacent allies taking one less damage from attackers with Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity. Give your team a heads-up when stalkers approach from the shadows. It's always a good idea to have a lookout!
  • AMBUSH - Units with this ability start combat before the first round of the battle even starts! During this bonus "Round Zero", only Ambush characters may perform any actions. The best surprise is the one where your enemy does nothing but gawk in stunned silence!

New Lore

The Rebellion edition breathes life into Splinterlands lore, unveiling new narratives and characters that enrich the game's immersive universe. Players can explore the stories behind each card, forging a deeper connection with the game's fantastical realms. Beside that the overall story of the Splinterlands takes a new turn and unveils new possibilities. And that can only keep players close to this amazing game.

The Chaos Empire holds the Splinterlands in its tyrannical fist. Yet all is not lost. From Wilhemdale in the west to Miterstedt in the east, there are those with the courage and determination to take a stand and reclaim what is theirs. So far, you’ve fought your battles in the arena. From the stands, the locals watch on, subdued and slump-shouldered. Meanwhile, the legionnaires of the Empire jeer and shout insults your way. Sometimes, they take a cut of your rewards. A tax, they tell you with a boorish laugh. But you’ve heard the rumors. They say that, in New Dawn, the Knights of the Silver Shield are mounting an insurgency. In the north, the city of Solace is in revolt. And in Mox City, the Empire is executing anyone who even casts a defiant look in their direction.

So what of you, battle mage? Will you stand against the Empire in defense of your home? Will you sacrifice your freedom to join with the legions of Chaos and unleash tyranny against your neighbors? Or will you keep your head down and fight your battles in the arena, hoping the Empire doesn’t one day take from you everything? The choice is yours.

Overall I believe that Rebellion edition not only enhances the gameplay in Splinterlands but also signifies the game's commitment to evolving and delivering a consistently engaging and enriched experience for its vibrant community of players. The story continues and we are still a part of it, while we are forging a destiny amongst the biggest warriors from these realms. And in the end, this is the way!

Will you rise with the Rebellion?

If not, you still have a chance on it, come and join Splinterlands!

Since the cards are new and people don’t really know much about them, is it going to make everyone feel like a newbie again and they will have to start coming up with new strategies or what?
