Splinterlands - Rebellion presale is slowly unfolding

In Splinterlands, the amazing play2earn game on the Hive blockchain, the Rebellion presale has started for few days and it is slowly unfolding. At the moment of writing this article, if we take a peak at the Rebellion Leaderboard we can see that there were 242,932 packs purchased with additional 28,216 bonus packs awarded, which makes a total of 271,148 Rebellion packs that will reach the avid players from here. As we are still in bearish waters the presale is not out of this stratosphere, but the numbers keep on growing slowly and steadily. For sure the new edition will bring new mechanics to the gameplay and will bring some advantages to those that get in early, thus the entire ecosystem will surely see some new energy and enthusiasm.

Rebellion pre-sale stats

The Pre-Sale Event is planned to hold for 30 days, and we are in the 5th day of it. Starting from 242,932 Rebellion packs sold, I will round it up at the end of the day to 250,000 packs and I will use that reference to extrapolate some statistics out of it. With this baseline, that gives us 50,000 Rebellion packs per day bought. It is quite a good number if that would keep up along the pre-sale event, but I believe that in the first days there is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm which are pushing the numbers high, while as we move along those will slowly fade away and the numbers will decrease. Overall I believe that the numbers represent the state of the crypto market at the moment and also the capabilities of players that are already in this ecosystem and which are probably the big majority of the buyers.

Rebellion perks

The Rebellion set is the fifth core edition of Splinterlands and introduces new gameplay elements alongside some nice perks for those that participate into the pre-sale event. This should bring more strength and strategy advantage on the battlefield along with some bonuses and promotions that could balance the investment. The game keeps on evolving and we see mechanics surprises taken place, which is quite good and proves that development never sleeps.

  • The base price for a Rebellion booster pack is 5000 Credits or 5000 DEC, with discounts available using VOUCHER tokens.
  • The top six accounts with the most Rebellion booster packs purchased during the presale will have the opportunity to design a Legendary Summoner card.
  • The top 250 accounts on the presale leaderboard will earn in-game titles based on their position.
  • Players who purchase Rebellion packs during the presale will receive two limited edition promo cards.
  • The airdrop system will be revamped with the introduction of "Conflicts," where players stake unopened Rebellion packs and cards to earn airdrop rewards.
  • The Rebellion set will introduce four new unit abilities: Armored Strike, Corrosive Ward, Flank, and Lookout.
  • Some of the Summoners in the Rebellion set will be dual-element, allowing them to summon cards from two elements on the same team.
  • Rebellion Summoners will also feature a new mechanic called Summoner Tactics, where players can choose between two sets of buffs or debuffs after both players reveal their teams.

The early investors will get some nice promo cards and with a bit of luck those will be gold foils as well. As in previous editions, if those alone will be thrown on the market in the initial phases might bring some nice returns and in some cases even covering the cost of the packs buying. There isn't a sure thing, but that happened for me during the Chaos Legion packs where I was blessed with some nice promo cards. If I would have sold them alone, I would have covered my investment. Unfortunately as I was betting for the bull run to return and cards priced to appreciate, I held all those cards and did not took profits. Now the prices are not so great to put them on the market, but maybe a future bull run will create better conditions for that.

Rebellion set is in presale and after that Land 1.5 should hit the Splinterlands ecosystem. A lot of things are rushing in the game and we will see how the mechanics will hold up or maybe (hopefully) improve. As we are still in bear market, if we put and improve the mechanics, those will shine during a future bull market. Things need to be thought and implemented as for the bear market in order to make the most during the bull market. Otherwise things will decline in time and tokenomics will be affected more and more.

Will you rise with the Rebellion?

If not, you still have a chance on it, come and join Splinterlands

I was a little surprised the presale went the way it did. I guess I’m remembering the Untamed presale which sold out on the same day, I think it was within a few minutes if I remember lol.

Hoping to grab some more packs before the end of the presale! I won’t be able to get to 100 but 50 is good enough for now, would enjoy to sit at 60.

Yeah, things move quite slow on Rebellion pre-sale, probably due to crypto bearish times.
