Splintershards will be the new source of airdrops for Genesis League Sports
Probably everyone knows by now that the Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA) shook on a partnership with Splinterlands, the worldwide leading blockchain gaming developer, to create and develop a play-to-earn blockchain soccer-based game. It will be just one of the Genesis League Sports which will expand into other sports as the Splinterlands company will move with other partnerships with industry sports entities. And the best of it is that in Monday's AMA (08-Aug-2022) the Splinterlands team just announced that the initial GLS tokens will be airdropped to SPS holders and that this will follow with other games and features developed.
From MLSPA, Chief Operating Officer Dan Jones stated that:
"As the MLSPA continues to expand our players' commercial footprint, we strive to identify partners at the cutting edge of innovation, technology, and new category creation. Joining forces with Splinterlands, a pioneer and demonstrated leader in the fast-expanding world of play-to-earn gaming, allows our players to shape the future and create new gaming experiences to engage fans around the world."
From Splinterlands, Dr. Jesse “Aggroed” Reich, Splinterlands Co-Founder and CEO said:

The airdrop should give a new revenue stream for Splintershards (SPS) holders and is another good reason to hold and stake these cryptocurrencies. This shows that everything that the team develops might be tied to SPS as a token that provides more earnings and airdrops as a way to govern all the products that are going to be released by the team. This alone should add more value to the token and reflect this in the price.
