25 gold chests and counting from Silver League

This Splinterlands season didn't start how I wanted it to because I have spent the entire season grinding for seasonal gold chests. At first, things were a bit difficult due to my extremely low energy capture rate but after letting it breathe for a while, things started getting better.

At the time of writing, I end every day with at least 10 daily focus chests and on top of that, I am already up to 25 Gold chests despite being more difficult to achieve.

As you might already know, Gold chests generally require more focus points to achieve and at Silver level you generally earn fewer focus points than you would earn in Gold league. So, to get my Gold chests, I generally have to work twice as hard as people in gold league but that's just how things go these days.

Frankly speaking, I'm not as angry about the situation as I previously was. In fact, overall, I think it is a blessing in disguise and I kind of dig it.

All things considered, I'll probably be ending this season with around 30 Gold chests or maybe slightly more. At the time of writing, I need to win anywhere between 7-10 battles before I earn one Gold chest. Now, considering my energy capture rate management system, I only have a limited amount of time to earn Gold chests.

Silver league ranking

In an unexpected twist, this season has turned out to be one of my best seasons since the changes came to Splinterlands ranking. Not only am I punching above my weight and earning a decent chunk of Gold chests, but I have also been quite high up in the Silver ranking.

At the time of writing, I sit in the 76th position on the Silver league leaderboard and have the potential to climb much higher. Naturally, the target is to break into the top 25 where I will earn DEC for my struggles and I think that is achievable.

Yesterday, I actually broke into the top 50 for a moment but got beaten by an unexpected strategy from a much weaker team that pushed my ranking back down closer to 100. I've managed to brawl my way back into contention and I intend to keep pushing.

Climbing up the leaderboard is quite the task, I must add. Once you get to the top 50, you must ensure your strategy is perfect for every battle because any loss pushes you back hard. Worst of all, winning battles only boosts your ranking by 3-5 points against the same opponent.

So, in essence, you always have more to lose than to gain from every battle. No pressure at all, am I right?

Anyway, all of this was only possible due to my energy capture rate management system that I evolved. I've participated in much fewer battles and earned a lot more points than I did when I was draining my ECR.
