Axie Infinity is down but far from out

Axie Infinity has been down for a while but that is just a byproduct of the general crypto market. The numbers go down narrative swirling around the Ronin wallet-based game is due to the fact that it generally gets more coverage than most ply-to-earn games in the crypto space.

Let's face it, Axie Infinity and by extension, AXS token is a mega product and whether you play it or not, it is safe to say that this project isn't going away any time soon.

Cointelegraph reports that the AXS token has been painting a bearish pattern for the best part of the last 12 months at least but how I see it, we can only hear about this because of how huge the game is.

Axie Ininfity is casually the biggest and the most lucrative blockchain game in the crypto industry. It sits at the peak of play to earn dynasty due to its immense money-spinning environment that requires thousands of dollars to get started.

To put it differently, if you don't have a decent chunk of funds of at least a couple hundred and maybe up to a thousand dollars, you can't actually properly independently get started on Axie Infinity. You might get those scholarships and stuff like that but basically speaking, the game is not for the poor.

This contrasts with Splinterlands which requires $10 to get started and an investment of even half of what Axie requires would put you in at least the silver leagues in the wild format. However, while Splinterlands is a lot cheaper to get started, it still somewhat pales in comparison to Axie in a lot of aspects.

DappRadar places Axie Infinity as the most popular blockchain game in terms of activity, transaction volume and other metrics. However, while not the main topic, it is important to state that Splinterlands is not far behind, despite being run on a network that is less popular(Hive) than Axie's blockchain(Ethereum).

Anyway, despite all the FUD surrounding Axie Infinity, it is still holding its ground quite well, with all things considered. Perhaps there might be too much interest in the value of the AXS token but in reality, there's always much more to a game than the governance token.

It is just like saying because SPS token is around 5 cents means that SPlinterlands is failing, which is not true because in reality, there's just more to the story. Just taking a glance at the numbers shows that despite a dramatic reduction in activities, Axie Infinity still has the entire play to earn space in a chokehold.

Axie Infinity is still one of the most popular blockchain games and is still home to hundreds of millions of dollars worth of transactions. Despite the emphasis on the struggling AXS governance token, the game as a whole is still thriving and even though it seems like the numbers might be down, Axie is far from out of the race.
