End of season feeling

After another gruelling season, we are only a couple of hours away from the end. I guess in a way, it has been a good season but it could be better.

I was not exactly enthused by the presence of soul bound reward cards but I accepted my fate. In the early stages, the distribution was exciting and so while not being tradable, at least they looked nice in my collection.

I was also harbouring thoughts of building a formidable lineup of reward assets that could tilt battles in my favour. However, this hinged on how many monsters I could accumulate.

When the reward cards starting popping up in chests in the middle of last season, I thought it was weird but I liked their frequency. I was getting a decent number of these assets and was particularly happy about receiving the rare summoners.

The way I saw it, receiving a lot of the new monsters was consolation for the monsters not being tradable. It felt like a small victory because I figured it'll allow me earn in a different way.

My plan was simple, really; I was going to put my tradable summoners into the rental market while relying on the soul bound assets in ranked battles. My hope was that at the pace that the reward monsters were peddled in chests, I'd be making decent progress in upgrading the monsters.

Sadly, that hasn't been the case, as I've seen the frequency of monsters I receive from chests drastically reduce. For example, I recently opened 10 loot chests and didn't receive any single reward monster.

For what it's worth, it's not like I'm feeling entitled or anything, far from that. I don't think it's my right to receive these monsters in every chest, so this isn't a rant.

This is just an expression of my feelings about the season so far. It's not like there haven't been bright spots though.

A couple of days ago, I got a rare gold foil soul bound assets and that was nice. It would have been a lot more awesome if it was a summoner but again, I'm not complaining, just stating what could have made it better.

All I've deduced from this situation is that I need to put in more effort every day and I also have to find consistency to battle every day. Life tends to get in the way of my Splinterlanding but I believe that with a bit more dedication to the cause, I could be accumulating more chests and increase my chances of getting these soul bound reward cards.
