Poor season, Rift Watchers and SPS

I'm not going to lie, this season has easily been my worst in a very long time. I suffered due to a mix of consistency and the level of competition that I have to struggle with.

My head has been in a fuzzy place for a while and it has hindered how well I usually participate in ranked battles. Hell, I've barely even touched guild brawls and activities in that part of town.

At the end of the day, I'll still end the season with 30 Loot chests and frankly speaking, I'm not expecting much from them. I'd be glad if I end up with a small stack of SPS tokens and a chaos legion pack but even that feels farfetched.

In a subtle way, the general state of the crypto market has also influenced my level of participation. At a time when I'm in need of some immediate funds, stacking very undervalued tokens doesn't quite help the cause but a man must keep trying.

Waiting for the watchers

Speaking of the crypto market, I'm patiently counting down the weeks until the launch of the rift watchers collection. I'm fascinated by how the Splinterlands market will respond to a new collection in this bearish market.

This will be a limited edition collection of monsters and I reckon some monsters in the collection will have unique and incredible abilities that you will absolutely want to have in your deck.

The question is, with the current state of the market, particularly as SPS is so cheap, do you think people will be willing to part with their SPS?

The price of SPS token has always been a matter of concern for me. Other than the initial hype about the token, SPS token hasn't exactly hit the highs we expected of it and I seriously doubt that this new collection of monsters will have the requisite kick to actually offer anything more than a minor pump.

In any case, I'll try to get my hands on some packs. I have a small stack of SPS tokens that I've been holding for a while and hopefully, the market will enable me to buy a decent amount of packs with the tokens.

SPS thoughts

As I mentioned earlier, SPS token is an asset of interest and how it responds to changes is always fascinating. The token doesn't seem to have any exaggerated response to activities.

Another thing that fascinates me about the token is the recent increase in the amount of SPS printed through ranked battles.

As far as I can tell, there aren't that many people burning SPS tokens for DEC. Hell, I don't even know if the feature has been added to the game yet.

All I'm saying is that it seems like there will now be even more SPS tokens pumped into circulation. Which loosely means that whatever value in the market will be further diluted.

Of course, there are other variables to consider in this analysis, but will the Rift Watchers hype be enough to properly counter the amount of SPS being printed daily and then go one step further by pumping the token?

I'm not trying to sound bearish or anything, I'm simply just wondering as everyone else should. In any case, if SPS drops further, I'll buy a small amount again.

With as little as $55, you can buy 1K SPS tokens and despite the current condition of the market, I still think SPS is long-term bullish.

In any case, always do your own research, don't trade what you can't afford to lose and stay frosty.

Market makers put many NFT-based projects in one basket, so the SPS price is weak. Splinterlands had become a franchise. Splinterlands is a fictional universe that will create massive revenue from movie rights, merchandise sales, and novels. (Beside digital assets)

This is one very salient but exciting part of being a part of Splinterlands that many people haven't quite caught up to yet

All the plans towards sps are the long-term plan, I believe we should keep building

Actually the amount of new SPS put in circulation with the battle rewards is now lower than when the airdrop was going on.

Oh I see. What about the additional SPS being printed by Validator nodes?

Exactly! Right now I see Splinterland assets as wildly under priced. I strongly believe that 2 years from now people are going to wish they bought SPS when it was only .05. I would recommend anyone to buy packs, plots, and SPS while it is still cheap then hang onto it for 2 to 4 years.

Yep, i feel you, usually i go up to diamond 1/champ 3, but this season i spent most of the time in gold, for some reason, barely ending in diamond 3.
