Processing my Splinterlands return

I have been away from Splinterlands for almost a year now and in that time, a lot has happened. At the same time, not much has changed but overall, it is clear to see that there's still so much to come from the game.

I tested my skill in one random battle against what I assume is a bot and got destroyed. I noticed that there's been a change in the way battles are decided but that's something I'll talk about on a different day.

I also noticed that SPS staking has taking a whole new direction and is even now more important than it's ever been. I'm not sure about how it works but I know from the past that it determines how high you can go and also enables you to participate in tournaments.

As we move further into the bull market, it is important to keep your eye out for opportunities in these sort of projects that are rife with avenues to earn. It is only a matter of time before Splinterlands explodes again and when it does, I'd like to be on the fun side.

Buying back

I went from having a deck worth almost $20k to less than $5k when the bear market hit. It is a testament to how far the value of assets have fallen in recent years.

Anyway, I'm pleased to say that I intend to slowly buy my way back into Splinterlands reckoning. It'll be a slow build with my post rewards but I think I'll be back soon.

I have some assets worth a few hundred dollars outside of Hive blockchain and I'll be moving that value to Hive eventually. I set some profit targets for these assets that includes Cake from Pancake Swap and Atom.

I already started buying Splinterlands assets with some of my post rewards yesterday. I increased my SPS stake by 500 tokens and I intend to add around that amount every week.

As life starts to take better shape for us in the UK, I'll be able to move some of my earnings from my day job into hive. That is still further down the line. For now, I'll reinvest all the liquid tokens and HBD I earn while leaving Hive Power to grow.

My short term targets is to own some summoners and long term, I'll like to own land. Little drops though, so for now, it is about picking up the cheaper monsters and chucking them into ranked battles.

Speaking of ranked battles, I've not really been able to get my head around ranked play in Genesis League Goals and I may be completely pulling out of the game. If I decide to do that, I'll transfer whatever I earn to splinterlands and hive power.

Overall, I'm just excited to be back to building back my Splinterlands deck and easing my way back into the Hive community.
