Silver chests are full of surprises

Earlier today, I opened 10 Silver chests from and found $2.77 worth of rewards inside. ut of the rewards was a Chaos Legion pack which I opened immediately and got me a normal foiled Obsidian.

These days, Obsiidian is quite cheap but only a couple of months ago, that summoner use to cost up to $5. Times have obviously changed and these days, the summoner costs only a bit over one $1 but that's still fair value from daily quest, if you ask me.

So, at the end of the day, I pulled roughly $4 worth of rewards from just ten loot chests and it is days like these that makes battling in SIlver league worth the time. This is also why I have no intention of leaving the league this season, as I slowly climb up the leaderboard.

At the time of writing, I'm 125 in the ranking but with 4 days of the season left, I'm definitely going to climb up higher. It has been quite the challenge but I intend to continue pushing for top spot.

Despite having a deck worth upwards of $1600 and a collection power of over 200K, I'm still not one of the top accounts in Silver leage. In fact, based on what I've seen from the accounts dominating the leaderboard, breaking into the top 100 is punching above my weight category.

Yet I keep slugging it out with these accounts, winning battles and climbing up the ranks. My goal for this season is to get the DEC reward from my leaderboard position and that will require a lot more tactical nous than I'm applying now.

Are you buying the dip?

The crypto market has been in a terrible state for a while now and most people are drained because of all the FUD. Splinterlands has also been affected by the widespread dump and this has led to a dramatic drop in the price of assets in the game.

The price of monsters in particular have dropped ever since the SPS airdrop ended. However, the price continued to tumble and the recent bearish divergence has led to even more bloodshed in SPlinterlands.

Despite this situation, the play to earn model of the game is still in full flow, there are still millions of players enjoying the game worldwide and many are looking forward to better days.

The future is uncertain but with Splinterlands making plans to expand and add even more features to the game, it is not out of the question to expect that the sun will shine on your assets again one day. I can't say for sure if we've hit rock bottom but I doubt we'll be seeing any massive drop from here, even if we do.

So, now might be as good as any time to buy the Splinterlands dip and I've been pondering over a couple of assets. certain monsters that includes Serpentine Spy, Cornealus that I'm renting, and flesh golem are among the list of monsters that I intend to add to my collection soon.

Other than monsters, I also intend to add more SPS tokens to my collection and stake them. I'll be earning more vouchers, SPS and GLX tokens, so that's a positive, on its own.

There's still opportunity in SPlinterlands but it is for only the brave. Now, I have to ask myself if it is a risk worth taking.
