Slow season but Soul Bound Rewards have been nice

This has been a rather disappointing season for me, as I've struggled with stacking chests. At the time of writing, I'm only up to 9 Silver chests after brawling for nearly one week of the season.
I must admit, this is a far cry from what I expected this season to look like and I got more bronze chests than I envisaged. Fortunately for me, even the bronze chests have come with quite the collection of reward monsters.
The soul bound assets that I've received so far look quite good and I think they have panned out much better than I expected. I've still not used even a single one in battle because of their level but I can't shake off the feeling that I might have to use them at some point this season.
At the time of writing, I have 2 BCX of some of the less exotic monsters while those with higher rarity are either just single units or not yet in my collection. However, toggling the filter in SPlinterlands to show "All cards" in the reward section really gives me something to look forward to.
Interestingly, It kind of seems like being in Bronze hell might actually be the fastest way to stack some of the less exotic monsters in my collection. During the days I spent in Bronze league, I noticed that I was stacking a lot lower quality chests and most of those chests housed the new reward monsters.
The way I see it, right now, it is more about quantity than quality, so piling up as many chests as possible is the way to go. Silver chests will probably offer higher rarity of rewards but considering the increase in difficulty and rating point requirement per chest, Silver doesn't quite glow like Bronze.
Merits system would have been nice
Despite my travails in climbing up the ladder, I have been consistent with my guild brawls. Other than the much needed SPS staked to my collection, I also receive merits that are handy for buying gladius monsters.
Actually, I'm not aware of any other use for merits except buying Gladius monsters, Just like their reward counterparts, gladius monsters aren't assets that I regularly use in battle.
WHat I must say is that there are some exquisite monsters in the gladius collection and the only way I know to get them is through buying cases with the merits you earn from brawls.
At the time of writing, there's literally no marketplace for merits, so you have to invest what you have. This is why I buy cases whenever I have up to 2K merits and repeat the process until I'm out of merits.
Perhaps the incoming DEC-B token could be the token that enables us to by packs of the new soul bound assets. Considring that DEC-B and the reward monsters are both soul bound, I feel like it is only fair.
This aforementioned dream would technically mirror the system used for buying gladius cases. It is a long shot and sounds unlikely of happening but it is nice to fantasize.
