What can $25 achieve in the Splinterlands NFT market?

I start this month with exploring the Splinterlands market and looking for ways to grow my personal deck, as well as the deck of the @seed-treasury. This will be achieved by simply sharing information between me and @empoderat

Both decks(my personal deck and the managed deck) are in two distinctly different situations, and so they have different requirements. So, the monsters I buy for either account will obviously not be the same.

Note that, this was always part of my plan when I made the decision to sell off all my assets. The slow and steady rebuild of my personal deck in my main account(alt account now) will take some time but it is a journey that I know I'll relish.

So, anyway, for this month, I decided to improve my summoner situation in my personal deck. Looking at the summoner market, it was a no brainer getting a Chaos Legion summoner because while being cheaper, their stats are quite good.

This month, I decided to buy General Sloan of the life Splinter and got him up to level 2. That investment cost me a little bit over $11.

I still had around $12 to spend and I seriously considered putting it into packs but scrapped that idea as fast as it popped into my head. As I see it, with careful and calculated spending, I could do a lot more with $12 on my personal deck than just buy packs.

I also hold 300 packs at the moment, and any pack I add to my collection will certainly not be opened. This leaves me with the only option of scouring through the monster market for good deals.

So, I decided to focus my attention on mostly on Chaos Legion monsters but I also got a few cards outside that collection. On the Chaos Legion side, I got;

• 8 Lava Spiders
• 4 Goblin Psychic
• 4 Stitch leech
• 1 Soul Fiend
• 13 Blinding Reflector
• 10 Chaos Knight
• 5 Venari Crystal Smith
• 1 Xenith Archer
• 1 Dax Paragon
• 1 Prismologist

The grand total for this entire venture was about $12.4 at the time of writing. So at the end of the day, I was able to add a level 2 Life summoner and a couple of monsters that ranged from Legendary to Common.

Other than the Lava Spider and Goblin Psychic, everything else in this collection of monsters is part of the life Splinter. I followed this pattern because I wanted to focus on my strengths.

In my main deck, General Sloan is the most advanced summoner at level 2, so this gives me room to upgrade a couple of monsters. Note that with a level 2 summoner, I can get my common monsters to level 3 and my Rare monsters to level 2, while Epic and Legendaries stay at level 1.

If I consistently invest $25 into my other Splinters with this same pattern, I'll be able to easily beat my way up to the Silver league in the coming months. The total expenditure added about 1000 Collection power to my deck.

Growing a solid deck that enables you to compete favourably in your league requires investing your time and money. Always ensure you focus on your strengths and add only monsters that will improve your deck. It takes a while but you'll get there eventually.
