Will you buy more Chaos Legion Packs?

I haven't bought a Splinterlands Chaos Legion Pack in quite some time now and really haven't even been looking in that direction. I decided to take a peek today and noticed that we're getting closer to the release of the next chaos legion monster.

The monster scheduled to be released will be a legendary summoner and it will most likely cost a bit more than a penny.

The reason I'm bringing this topic up now is because of the new path that the game will be taking next season. The whole modern versus wild split will make things more interesting and most likely increase the stakes for either ends of the ranked battle system.

The new monsters released in the Chaos legion collection will all be in the modern category and I reckon that they will be in high demand.

At the time of writing, it is a bit over 100K packs than needs to be minted before the chaos legion legendary monster is airdropped to investors.

Beyond the airdrop, there's also the fact that there are now more options of monsters that one could find inside chaos legion packs. This could, in turn, boost the price of Chaos Legion packs on the market.

Chaos Legion Discount

One of the most fascinating thing about Chaos Legion packs is the huge gap between the minting price in-game and the price on Hive-engine.

At the time of writing, each chaos legion pack on Hive-engine costs around $1.88 but it is still a flat $4 per pack in the game.

This huge difference in price is solely due to the fact that the packs you buy in-game make you eligible for an airdrop. However, when you think about it, not everyone gets the airdrop.

If you consider how many packs get sold in each round of airdrop, you'll realise that you need to invest a shitload of money to even stand a chance of getting any airdropped monster.

For example, right now, I have 1013 eligible packs and I'm not confident of my chances of getting the airdrop. Honestly, if I don't get it, I won't even be mad because I know there are beastly investors buying up hundreds of thousands of packs and are more deserving.

So if you don't have a lot of money to blow, it might e better to just pick up packs on hive-engine. At the end of the day, the content of the pack is the same with packs minted in-game, but they cost way less.

For a new player trying to grow your deck and prefers to randomise the options of monsters in their collection, buying packs is better. However, if you want specific monsters, you should consider using a tool that provides in-depth information and statistics about individual monsters that could improve your deck.

I'm going to buy CL packs when we have only 300k packs left. Like it happened earlier for other packs, there will be rush into it. Other than that, I buy and open packs as a way of increasing my CP and making the decks stronger with them :)

I still sometimes buy packs but it's more because of the excitement of opening them. Other than that, I buy cards straight off the market.
