Splinterlands - Battle Weekly Challenge - Centaur
Hello friends from the Splinterlands community, how are you? I hope so!
Here we are together another week for the weekly battle challenge, one of the last of this year 2021 that has passed quickly for me.
Let's talk about the theme of the week, the battle, the outcome, the learnings and the experience.
And here we go.
This week's theme is "CENTAUR".
This week's card is a great neutral card of common rarity with Range attack. Its mana cost is 4 and its attack is only 1 point, which is reduced, but on the other hand it has 3 points of attack speed and 4 points of life, making it a versatile card and a little resistant, although with low damage.
On the other hand, Centaur has, by default, the ability Snipe, so when it attacks, it targets opponent monsters with ranged, magic or even no damage that are not in the first position of the opponent's battlefield.
This skill is useful and very interesting, because usually the most resistant creatures are placed in the first position of the battlefield, making low attacks, such as the centaur's, do not cause much damage, or even no damage at all.
But on the other hand, Centaur with its Snipe ability can do direct damage to enemy monsters that are certainly there to do damage. The Centaur is nothing more than a "sniper" attacking the right creature.
My current battle status is 1.147 rating and I'm in the "Silver III" league, so those are the characteristics of the Battle Weekly Challenge, and the choice of battle rules was as follows:
So, to participate in the battle I decided to choose a team of the element of life, which I like a lot and usually use, having chosen, as summoner, Tyrus Paladium that grants +1 armor to all friendly creatures.
In the sequence, as tank, for its resistance and ability to grant +1 melee attack I chose Silvershield Knight.
In the second position I put the Gargoya Scrapper more for team building and for its low mana cost (only 1) followed by the Centaur to use the theme of this week and, at the end, Silvershield Assassin to cause a lot of damage to opposing creatures.
I placed the Centaur before the Assassin, even though the first is a ranged attack, so that the Assassin could resist more to eventual enemy attacks through the sneak ability.
So the battle beggins.
Round 1:
The opponent chose a fire team composed of Living Lava, Chaos Agent, Serpentine Spy, Tenyll Striker and Radiated Scorcher, a team totally focused on melee attack.
The first round began with the Silvershield Knight annihilating the Living Lava's armor, followed by Centaur and Silvershield Assassin's attacks, which in their first attack already defeated the Radiated Scorcher, and then reduced Tenyll Striker's life from 7 to 4.
Then Serpentine Spy, Tenyll Striker, and Living Lava made their attacks only to put an end to my creatures' armor.
Round 2:
Round 2 began again with the Silvershield Knight attacking the Living Lava which reduced his life from 7 to 5 points, then Centaur defeated the Chaos Agent, and the Silvershield Assassin defeated the Tenyll Striker with his two attacks.
Serpentine Spy then defeated the Gargoya Scrapper, who didn't even effect any attacks in the battle, and the Living Lava attacked the Silvershield Knight, reducing his life to only 2.
The battle was already well underway for me and victory, should my creatures not miss too many attacks, was certainly a matter of time.
Round 3:
The dynamics of the third round were the same as the others, Silvershield Knight attacked and reduced Living Lava's life to 3 and the Assassin defeated the serpentine spy and then dealt 2 more damage to Living Lava, leaving his life at only 1 point.
In the end Living Lava defeated the Silvershield Knight.
Round 4:
There was nothing the opponent could do but wait for my victory, which came right at Assassin's first attack.
It was a great victory.
Although my opponent's card choices were not bad, the team I chose for the battle proved to be, by game characteristics, more powerful and much more effective.
The battle certainly went smoothly, without many difficulties and always under the control of my creatures, with 2 of these still left on the battlefield at the end.
In this sense, about Centaur I can only say that this is a good card to complete a team when you have the choice of a ranged attack focus, which can be useful in conjunction with its Snipe ability.
So that's it my friends, that was another weekly battle.
I hope you enjoyed it and thank you for reading.
