SPLINTERLANDS Battle Weekly Challenge - DRAGONS

weeky.jpg

Hello friends, how are you?

Another week has gone by, this week has gone by quite fast I must say, and we have another "Battle Weekly Challenge" of Splinterlands.

This week the weekly battle theme is not a specific card, but a whole element, in this case, the Dragons.

And in this post, I will tell you a little more about my weekly battle with this element, which cards I used, why I used them, in which position and what was the result.

This week's theme is "DRAGONS".

As I said above, this week the theme of the battle was not a specific card, but the whole Dragons element.

Consulting my cards in the game I verified that I only have 3 cards of the dragon element, these being:

The first card is the DRAKE OF ARNAK which is nothing more than the dragons summoner that grants +1 armor to all friendly cards.

The second card is the NAGA ASSASSIN, a card with 1 attack range, which is a low damage, 5 speed, a very high speed and 2 life, being a card with good characteristics for its cost of only 2 sends. NAGA has no abilities at its starting level.

The third card is TWILIGHT BASILISK, a card with melee attack of 1 damage, with 3 speed, 1 armor and 3 life, being a Tank of little resistance, but its differential is its ability "Reach" that allows it to attack from the second position of the deck.

So, since they are likely to fit together, I decided to make a battle using the 3 cards together.

My current battle status is 1,168 rating and I'm in the "Silver III" league, so those are the characteristics of the Battle Weekly Challenge, and the choice of battle rules was as follows:

A battle formed all elements, 24 mana cap (which is average) and only the "Close Range" rule that allows range cards to attack from the first position.

In the last 5 battles my opponent used 3 times the water element and 2 times the earth element (with Mylor as summoner, which, if chosen again would bring difficulties to eventual melee attacks from my cards.

So I decided to choose DRAKE OF ARNAK as summoner and combine my team with the water element.

In the first position I chose "albatross" just for its low mana cost and to suffer the enemy team's initial attack.

In the second position I chose DJINN OSHANNUS to be my tank, because if my opponent chose a water team, the Djinn's void ability would make a big difference since it would reduce the damage of magic attacks.

In the third position I opted for TWILIGHT BASILISK for its reach ability and the attack ability of the second position.

In the fourth position I chose VENARI WAVESMITH for its magic damage and its Protect ability that grants +2 armor to all friendly cards.

And at the end I chose NAGA ASSASSIN for its high speed and its ability to dodge possible attacks in such a position.

My opponent chose, in turn, a water team, which was already partially expected, composed in the following order: DJINN OSHANNUS, SEA GENIE, VENARI WAVESMITH and ICE PIXIE, being a full mage team.

So the battle beggins.

Round 1:

After the initial buffs of the cards, the first attack came from my opponent through his DJINN OSHANNUS and defeated my albatross, which proved to be useful since DJINN OSHANNUS has 3 magic damage and could have caused greater damage to other cards.

Soon after it was the turn of the other cards to attack, and all my cards attacked my opponent's DJINN OSHANNUS and my opponent's cards attacked my DJINN OSHANNUS.

At this point I thought it would have been interesting to have chosen a healer on the team to help my main card.

Round 2:

The second round followed the same dynamic of the first round until my DJINN OSHANNUS was defeated in the last attack of the turn by SEA MAGE, causing TWILIGHT BASILISK to move to the first position.

At this point I could already imagine that the battle was well on its way to victory for my opponent, since now I was without my main card, with reduced damage and his DJINN OSHANNUS was still strong in the first position.

Round 3:

In this round the battle was already heading for defeat, and my TWILIGHT BASILISK was eliminated in the first attack of DJINN OSHANNUS, the VENARI WAVESMITH went to the first position, but could not resist the attacks of ICE PIXIE and VENARI WAVESMITH of my enemy.

Finally NAGA ASSASSIN moved to the first position and was defeated in one attack by SEA MAGE.

As you can see, the battle was totally unfavorable for my cards, as I couldn't even halve the life of my opponent's first card.

I can't say that the choice of my cards was good, although the position of TWILIGHT BASILISK and NAGA ASSASSIN were right.

My bad luck was that my opponent's full game team was very strong, and maybe with a team with some magic reflect cards the result could have been different.

Anyway the battle was interesting and, about the DRAGON element, I have been using the summoner DRAKE OF ARNAK a lot in my daily game.
