Splinterlands - Battle Weekly Challenge - SPINEBACK TURTLE

Hello fellow Splinterlands players, how are you? I hope so.

We are here together in this first week of 2021 for another amazing Splinterlands battle challenge.

Let's talk about the theme of the week, the card characteristics, my battle and the result.

And here we go.

This week's theme is "SPINEBACK TURTLE".

This is a classic common creature of the water element.

It has a mana cost of 4 points to enter battle, 1 point of melee attack, and 1 point of speed, which is very low, but on the other hand, it has 2 points of armor and 6 points of life.

Thus Spineback Turtle shows itself as a reasonable water tank, used to compose a team with a lot of damage, since it has almost no damage, due to its ability to withstand several attacks.

It does not have, by default, any ability, but it receives the Thorns ability, which, when attacked with melee damage, reflects damage to the attacking opponent, starting at level 4.

I used Spineback Turtle a lot in my first battles in the Bronze league when I started playing.

My current battle status is 824 rating and I'm in the "Bronze I" league, so those are the characteristics of the Battle Weekly Challenge, and the choice of battle rules was as follows:

image.png

It was a battle with only 12 mana cap, which is the minimum possible, with the "Even Stevens" rule by which only monsters with PAR mana cost can be used in battle.

I choosed Kelya Frendul as summoner, put Spineback Turtle in the first position to be the tanker of the team, and obviously to participate in the weekly challenge.

With only 4 mana points left in my team I decided to put Ice Pixie in the second position because of its magic damage and low mana cost, only 2.

And, to complete, Pirate Archer for the low mana cost, also 2, and for the ability to blast the opponent's creature next to the attacked one.

So the battle beggins.

Round 1:

My opponent decided on a Dragon team, choosing Drake of Arnak as Summoner, Cursed Windeku in the first position, and to complete the team Undead Badger.

The battle begins with my Ice Pixie attacking the opponent's Cursed Windeku, causing him 1 point of damage.

Next it was Cursed Windeku's turn to attack Spineback Turtle, and Undead Badger's turn to attack Pirate Archer, who attacked Cursed Windeku, causing damage to Undead Badger as well.

And to finish, Spineback Turtle closed the round by attacking Cursed Windeku

Round 2:

The dynamic of the second round followed that of the first, differentiated only by the defeat of the Undead Badger when the Pirate Archer attacked the Cursed Windeku.

It is now a 3-on-1 battle, with a possible victory being well on its way for me.

Round 3:

In the third round Cursed Windeku was attacked by Ice Pixie and then attacked and defeated Spineback Turtle, and was later attacked by Pirate Archer ending the round with only 2 life points, which brought my victory even closer.

Round 4:

Just wait for my victory with the defeat of Cursed Windeku, which indeed occurred.

That is the end of the battle.

It was a good victory.

Well friends, it was a good battle and I was happy for the victory, the game went as expected and everything went according to plan.

Spineback Turtle, as I said above, is a card that I used for a long time before Chaos Legion when forming teams of water element magic.

It is a good tank with low mana cost that can withstand several attacks while the other creatures do the work of causing damage to the opponent.

I will try to adapt it for new battles now with new formations.

I hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks for reading.
