But the trouble is, reward pool being constant, as the size of the community grows, the segment of the reward pool that was supporting the community get stretched and eventually taps out.
never looked into this, but if community understands how things work should not that community grow in rewards (or at least stay on the same rate). Because if community members stake hive and don't cash out everything, the voting power of the community grows with time. ( i simplified it, i know it is not the exact math...)

Yeah, trouble is even at a low growth rate, community-growth will outpace stake growth by probably 2 orders of magnitude, at least in the beginning. Then its poof!
